C6 v. Audi RS4

More freeway rollin' came up on brand new (still had dealer plates) 2007 N/A RS4, It was bright yellow, I intantly knew the rep these things carried got along side of him going South on the 101 to LA just about to reach Ventura.

Anyway look over at the guy, looks like a 30-40 yr old by himself, I wave & point ahead for him to race, he shakes his head and gives me a look as if I didn't have a chance in hell, I really want to race him now

I down shift do the usual lunging fwd, nothing I say *** it! and just slowly accelerate away at about 80mph then outta nowhere here he comes blazzing by me, I hit the throttle nearly punching my foot thru the fiberglass floor board to try and catch this basta*rd!

He lets up a little I catch up, but there are no other lanes open so I'm stuck behind him, he hits it again at about 65mph and I'm ready, right on his rear bumper so bad that I have to let off the gas or I'll hit him, I did this 2-3 times as we flew up to stupid speeds...

An opening ahead right lane I have the power so I punch it pass him at a fast walk lets say jog, but were in triple digits, and looky what lies ahead for my dumbass, a frickin' 16 wheeler semi I let off the gas not wanting to hit the brakes at these speeds, could mean instant death, RS4, is now right by my side and has room to move over another lane to let me in.... Lil fukur doesn't budge! I ended up humping my brakes lightly like a poodle to get my fiberglass coffin to slow down before no posty ever again.

I got it under control, and dip**** kept flying away, freeway was dead empty after this close scare, I was determined to flip this jackass off or better Catch up he looks over giving the thumbs up I point again for one last run he obliges and I walked him badly up to triplets again to prove I'm the king of stupidity.

I think this kinda woke me up to how lame this really is, I'm going to hit the real 1/4 track for this kind of action.

The RS4 would get run down on the freeway by a CTS-V, let alone your C6. Well, at least you taught him something. Good **** man

I have had few "Stupid Crayz" runs like that with my C32 and after 3 tickets I'm done!

Good thing you made your point and he learned his lesson. Sometimes its a big risk to prove your point and if you win it is so rewarding.

Obviously he didn't know that trap speeds win freeway races (not ETA's or 0-60 times)

RS4 are very good track cars and AWD is good for launches for not for long runs.

How is new 6sp Auto on the C6? does trap higher?

Congrats on the kill!

Stock they are getting anywhere from 109-113 I've got the vararam intake, cat-back exhaust, the factory intake is so restrictive this Vara has been tested by other privat C6 owners as well as fact tests, shows a 3-4 mile trap increase in the quarter, amazing I know, but this CAI is a huge SOTP diff over stock I instantly felt & heard it over stock guys w/my same set-up have run 12.40-12.50 @ 113-116.

Unfortunately I have the A4 auto Wish I could've found the A6 w/options I wanted, they run bone stock 12.20-12.30 @ 115 mph
It's there GEARING 1st gear is like a 4.10, they test way lower on rwhp by as much as 20-35 rwhp & torque...

When you get into triple digit speeds what's the point of racing? I don't mind quick bursts from 75 to 90.....but why risk your life just to prove your car is better than an Audi RS4? You don't even know that guy.....what did you accomplish? I don't get it?
I'm more of a stoplight racer......I find 0-60 runs to be more fun. Maybe a little safer? Maybe not. Maybe less likey to get killed.

I whole heartedly agree, I've been very short sighted, and plan on hitting the 1/4 strip or Auto X for some fun...What I did was very stupid

Now Stiggs......if it was a hot chick with cleavage, you wouldn't go triple digits to get a view? You don't have to answer that. We already know your answer.

Any C better out-pull any RS4. I've actually driven the RS4, and it beats a C6 for refinement AND delivery all day. Now the C6 is just a torque monster, and a good one. So, it's not a kill if you're not in the same league.

I dare you to follow the guy into the twisties. I saw two C6 get served-up at Barber Motorsports Park in November. All the drivers were 'amateurs', so on THAT course, on that day, torque was of little value to the C6.

I'd love to have them both, and no kills.

FWIW- we clocked an RS4 at 154. Not bad for a 4.2 litre euro-box. Try that in your Impala.

Impala? As in Chevrolet Impala? The unrestricted 94-96 Impalas run over the 154mph you clocked in the RS4.

The fastest one recorded to date has topped out at 202mph, with the runner-up at 198mph. I wonder what the RS4 needs to hit those numbers.

Hell, my Buick (which has been recently de-modded) and shares the same engine/drivetrain/platform as the Impala still turns 152mph, nearly stock.

I am sure the C6 is better than the C5, but my dads old C5 Z06 (385hp version) the car felt like it was about to fall apart over 100mph. I was really disappointed by the C5 Z06, vetts used to be my dream car and my father would never hear the end of me talking about vetts, I think we owned the car for 8 or 9 months and he traded it in for his C4S.

I don't know where he pulled that 154mph from. I've hit 155 before the limiter chimed in on my current car. The RS4 is certainly good for 180mph
