SL65 vs. C230K

SL65 vs. C230K
So obviously there is no comparison between these 2 cars, and it wasn't even really a race. I really have to tell this story, only because I'm still in awe.
So I'm driving my completely unmodded C230 sedan on a residential 50mph road on my way home from work the other day. About 100 feet or so in front of me, I see a silver SL65. I pulled up closer to him pretty quickly, but only to get a closer look at the car. Well, I guess the driver thought I was challenging him. He turned onto the highway a couple of seconds later, pretty sharply. So I followed, taking the turn very sharply also, thinking "I'll play." I-75 has about a 1/8 mile or so straight on-ramp for this particular entry. This guy then immediately puts some distance between us as soon as we start to straighten out, so I floored it. Almost immediately, he pulled away from me like I'm freakin' standing still. Suddenly, I was so afraid that I had damaged my car because I wasn't accelerating. I lifted up from the gas pedal completely, looked down at the floor, thinking maybe the pedal was stuck or something. I floored it again. Then I realized that I was accelerating, it was just that he was blindingly faster than me. Blindingly faster. In a few seconds, he was hundreds of feet in front of me. I was completely awestruck.
I thought I knew that the AMG cars were fast. I never knew they were THAT fast. Thanks for letting me share with some people that can appreciate it.

one time I was driving a 94 corolla...5 speed...like 100hp, totally smoked this cl600 v12. turns out it was parked...no plates...and no one was in it.

I can only imagine how you felt like you were standing still. It is the same feeling I had when the dealership loaned me a C230 while my car was in the shop getting an alignment/oil change.
