went out to night with a couple of buddies.
Raced a Mark IV Supra. Automatic, stock twins, BPU (intake, exhaust) on race gas (100 octane). Went from a 40 mph roll to 120 and got beaten by at least 4-5 car lengths. I was in mid second for some reason and he was at the top of first. I wasnt in my powerband, so we went from a slower roll at 30 mph when i was in 1st gear. This time, he only pulled about 3 cars lengths.
Also raced a Turbo'd G35 from a dig. He didnt hook up from the launch. Neither did I, but he got less traction than I did. I had a full car on him up to about 70 and he started pulling back and slowly passed me until about 120, at which he was about a car or car and a half ahead.
Fast cars, good runs, no traffic around.

or perhaps, because this is an MB site, i might give insight onto the performance of my vehicle against others so that fellow MBWorld members can get an idea of my car's abillities as well as others, as some might be curious as to which car would be faster. i do see your point, however.

nice story. Turbo > supercharger if your highway racing. You might have more a chance against the g35 if you race quarter mile depending on how much boost he's using. i know the vq35 engines respond really well from turbo.

the supra had a built motor. he said he maxed out the stock twins. like i said, the supra was bpu (intake, exhaust, boost controller) and the 100 octane definitely helped.

agreed. on a roll, he would have pulled more. but you are right. i think in the quarter mile, we would run the same time but he would trap higher. i saw the turbo'd G35's dyno sheets. he put down ~380 whp and ~400 wtq.

Yeah even with only moderate bolton mods, like turbo exhaust, MBC, and airfilter and minor boost increase, it is easy to get a stock Supra up above 400 rwhp. With mods that enable higher boost such as injectors, stand alone ECU it is possible to get way higher even with the little CT26's that are the stock turbos. You done good to keep him close. Since you said he was on race gas, I am assuming that he had the boost tweaked up to as high as he could stand. I know I would have, lol.
