You guys are going to hate me but I killed an e55 with mods

So I driving my m5 on route 3 this morning. Next to me pulls up a black e55 and I was like ooo boy this is going to be fun. I slow down to about 55mph and he does the same. I show him 3 beeps and we go and he gave me the nod. I honk 3 times and bam we're off 60 70 80... and I have a 1 1/2 car lead 90 100 120 I have about a 4 car lead and still pulling. I let go off the gas and press the breaks, he does the same pulls up and gives me a big thumbs up! Great race.

what mods did he have? was it a W210 or 211? The 211 is boxier, isnt supercharged, and has single side dual-tipped exahaust from the factory. Rims make it heavier. The 210s arent supercharged so I am guessing it was this......A modded 211 would eat you up. You wouldnt pull 4 cars on a W211, stock or modded.

Either way, nice kill!

I dont believe you. There is absolutely no way that an M5 could pull on an AMG at all. Even if it was a 210. AMG is God, this is outright BS.

J/K... Nice kill. lol

Of course it's possible, just like it's possible for an E55k to do the same to an M5. There's a lot of variables involved one of which is that an estimate of how many car lengths is precisely that, an ESTIMATE.

I'm sure it's possilbe, like Carl said there are many variable involved. Just recently I raced a M5 from about 50 to 120ish and pulled on him, not sure how many car lengths but enough for him let off. BTW...I'm a modded E55.

Just curious: how do you know that his car was modded? To me it sounds more like you ran a stocker.

+1.....thats what im trying to say......there is no way he knew it was modded.....probably cant tell if its stock exhaust or aftermarket....its loud man....stock

and heavy rims will slow it down....either way, pulling 4 cars on a W211 E55 is not M5-esque.

M5s pull very hard up high, as they're geared much more agressively than the 55k cars and the seven speed is very close-ratio, so it wrings better performance out of the motor at high speeds. Runs I've seen on video definitely show the M5 pulling up high, and tested numbers give it a 3-4 second difference to 150.

So stock to stock, a 3-4 length win could be possible, although I'd think that if the E55 guy had it in sport mode and did everything right, had a good-running car w/premium, good tire pressure, etc. etc. etc, it would be much tighter than that from 55-120.

ditto..

anything to about 120.. it would be close.. after that the M5 will pull quite well..

also, the gearing for the M5 is so much faster.. at 55mph the 55 needs to be in 2nd gear.. anything else it would take too long to catch up.

stock for stock.

(lets not get into mods)

exhaust and rims are modifications.. but by no means "power adders"

nice run!

guys I'm sure a lot of u are calling bs, but I'm a former E-class fan and owner and I never believed the m5 would beat the e55, but that is the absolute truth. I pulled on him and he was not really suprised as he gave me a thumbs up. People dont give thumbs up if they made a mistake anywhere.... they would be begging for another run..

Your worst nightmare...
I could see the M pulling on a stocker and if modded without cooling could pull even faster...

2 questions linger on my mind...

1. How did you know he was modded? It could have been exhaust note and such...it's tough to tell when an E is modded, only thing that would stand out is exhaust I guess..

2- What mods do you have on your M5? pulley's, intake, diff, ECU, etc...

Either way a kill is a kill. Good race, the AMG showed good sportsmanship and dindn't do the ricer fly by. Both cars are super fast specially the M since their gearing is superb.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a 550 with the 0 that just "happened" to fall off.

haha very true. Did it have quad exhausts? Brakes were huge AMG brakes?

Either a 550 or a bad intercooler pump. One or the other. Else the M5 was using NOS or something crazy like that. hah
