Nice day in Mexico for a friendly run. Before the run I was thinking I'm going to get beat pretty good. But I had faith in my Clk55. Started when I was behind the new V8 M3 he gunned it so I did the same. I was right on his ***. Somehow I came around by 130 which when he backed off. So I waited for him and he rolled down the window and said your car is fast! I wasn't impressed with the new V8 M3. I guess my skinny *** helps!

Considering they are only 4 liter V8s, they don't do too bad. They don't have much torque however. On the other hand, I took my 3.0L 335i to the dragstrip yesterday. Juice Box controller, stock exhaust, cats, intercooler, airbox, etc. Ran at 11.783 and my highest trap was 120.916 mph in 66F temps. (would have been faster in cooler temps)

 

Yeah the new M3s peak hp is at redline over 8k rpm.

 

no DPs? .....i know that those cars are quick. JB3, FMIC, intake, is fast.....but without DPs, i find it difficult to believe 120.9 trap speed is obtainable. were you on 100 octane? or at -1500 DA?

Totally stock downpipes, exhaust, intercooler, etc. It is so quiet, smooth, gets 27mpg on the highway, and on the weekends, I race the Lotus group through the canyons. You can see my videos on Youtube.

Too bad the new V8 M3s are a disappointment Also look at dragtimes the e90 M3 with a 2.1 60ft it ran 8.5sec in 1/8mile the same as mine in the 1/8. They just dont have the trq because of the small 4.0 v8. So any e90 M3s want a piece?

 

BTW the M3 gunned it at 60mph which is at his dead spot. He was pulling slightly but I was close enough to get his draft and sling shot around him Bam boom you shouldve seen the look on his face. I wanted to go again but he refused whimp! Its all in good fun

 

Ya buddy sure.... Find the worst time you can on an M3 vs your Best ever time and you still lose no matter what.. Your car is slower this thread is dumb, end of story. If you think you pulled on him and he was actually trying he probably raced you in 6th gear the whole time and didn't even care to downshift.

I know the e90m3 are faster But they are dissapointing 6th gear your a moron. They only trap like 5mph faster in the 1/4. I will bet any $ that I will beat a e90m3 in a lower gear then me. I ran my friends e63 I didnt have a chance to draft.

Your car isn't set up to take advantage of drafting you moron. It's not like a W208 is an aerodynamic masterpiece, it's a frigging brick. You have no downforce, no underbody aero work to speak of, and you're talking about drafting???

You kind of owned yourself right there....especially since you supposedly passed him at 130mph. The only "drafting" that went on was when you wrote your post. The race cars that draft each other are very similarly powered. The difference in high speed ability between your car and an E90 M3 is much bigger. Yes, I have seen a new 4 door M3 not able to crack 13.0. The launch and 1/4 mile ET isn't the M3's forte. As speed builds, the M3 is able to stretch its legs. If you had written that you smoked an M3 in the 1/4 mile, I would have found that believable. But you wrote that you smoked it above 130mph by drafting it.... if only Spielberg had your imagination...

I doubt you're picking up 15+ mph in the trap from just a tune on pump. My friend has one, running the JB3 and dual cones. It is a very quick car, but not something that traps nearly 121 mph. You sure you didn't fill up with 110 octane?

The reason I'm on the Lexus forum is I had an interest in the ISF which has similar performance as the new m3. Now the ISF is out. Personally hate bmws. Sorry bimmer owners
