Yup......the RS4 is absolutely a work of art aesthetically, it is agressive.....beautifully crafted.....absolutely gorgeous. Much nicer to the eyes than your CLK55 fer sure

Don't forget it'll leave that thing for dead as soon as there's a twist in the road ;-)

To be honest, I didn't understand what all the hoopla was about until I took delivery of mine and had it for a few days. There is more to life than straight line speed. And I've got the B5 for that kind of fun anyhow.

"modded" RS4s aren't any faster than stock ones, at least not on 91 octane. The motor's already pretty strung out at 100hp/L and an 8200 RPM redline.

RS4 with a Milltek Catback did a 12.5 @ 110 on 93 octane.

Yeah its still a overpriced 4door sedan. For my Clk55 I only payed $20k last yr with low miles. It also was overpriced when new. The new Camaro SS with 425hp is a nice muscle coupe. Its a damn bargain for $34k. Put boltons on that it will be running 11s for sure. Still waiting for the excitement to settle. So I could get a really good deal Hey I just like coupes

Then you need to add a Hyundai Tiburon to your stable. Talk about bang for the buck.

The Tiburon is a econo car no performance at all. But the new Camaro SS runs in the 12s out of the box. But I would still have my AMGs.

I got a pretty good deal on the RS4 that I couldn't pass up. $0/mo for two years... not so bad. ;-)

You can pick up stage 3 B5 S4s for < $20k and they'll run 11s all day long. Now, I bought mine stock and dumped way too much into it, but we'll leave that for another thread.

I still wouldnt buy a highly maxed out boost car no matter how cheap it is. So even though you pay less then 20k for a car like that. What about the reliability down the road?

wondering why you think it is "High Boost" The B5 S4 Motor has been show to be able to take 22-28 PSI allday long......cast iron block takes a pounding and has been shown to be reliable up to 600+ HP. I run anywhere from 19-22 PSI on mine.....and it has been a trouble-free daily driver for the last 65k miles (since I went K04s and running "higher boost")

Its like the Supra guys saying their cars are iron block so many overboost them and the motors detonate

...and your CLK55 looks more like a regular CLK than the RS4 does an A4. There's actually not much shared between an A4 and RS4... different interior, door panels, side skirts, trunk lid, quarter panels, hood, engine, transmission, differentials, brakes, springs, shocks, sway bars, grilles, bumpers, exhaust, gauge cluster, wheels, side mirrors, trim, steering wheel... headlights, switches, and stereo are the same though!
When you think about how low in volume the RS4 is, and how many one-off parts Audi (quattro GmbH) made for it... it helps explain the price. Sure, I still wouldn't pay the nearly $79k sticker that my RS4 has on it, but it's still a pretty special car when you actually know a thing or two about it. It received the accolades and recognition that it did in the automotive press for a reason... just like the CLK63 black isn't just a "regular" Mercedes, or even a "regular" AMG.

I'm not assuming anything. Go to the forum and get the facts. Yeah I know my Clk55 looks like any Clk body. But what I payed for a used one was a bargain. Don't get me wrong the RS4 is a nice car but overpriced. The C63 is a bargain for $60k. The 4doors is holding me back to buy one.

What forum? what facts? I'm on the Audi boards all day long, and have been for years. K04'd cars, daily drivers capable of 11s and trapping 120+, don't grenade and can last 100k miles, if not more. The idiots who are blowing motors either don't know what they're doing or are really pushing the envelope.
