Lined up with an '06 Pontiac GTO (400 bhp) in my SLK55. 3 races up to about 110mph: 1 from a dig and 2 from a 20mph roll. All with the same outcome. The AMG quickly pulled several car lengths and continued to pull away. I was actually pretty surprised at how quickly I pulled, given that my car is stock.

Several car lengths could be driver's inability to shift though.

Sounds spot-on to me, even if the GTO had an expert driver. Not much can be done about the weight penalty. The SLK55 performs similar to an LS2 C6 6M

Suddenly I can't remember - were the SLK55s available with a manual?

My friends 05 goat ran 12.80's@110 with a exhaust intake and tune. They are pretty stout. They really respond to mods, like all LSX's.

Stock they run mid 13's@105ish.

NIce kill.

GTOs are pigs. I ran this 6.0L GTO 6spd with intake, exhaust tune. From a roll I pulled on it. A stock LS2 GTO 6spd I walked it easy from a roll.

AMGs don't come with a manual.

That means your car is a bigger pig stock. Stock LS2s have put up numbers at the track like yours....

My Clk55 is 34xx lbs. A smaller pig I'm sure stock LS2s put down similar #s as mine. But from a roll they get walked.

How is it yours is under the lightest listed at 3571 and C&D weighed theirs at 3808? Or 327rwhp does not equal 362 crank hp...? Loose dyno?

there is a thread about his dyno. a bunch of people think it is either a stroked motor, heavily modded (and he nor anyone else knows it), or he was given the crank hp. its weird b/c most stock CLK55s dyno in the 270 range on a dynodynamics and he dynoed 57 more.

see thread

https://mbworld.org/forums/clk55-amg...-dynamics.html

either way, he's got a quick car lol.

The newer style Clk55 is almost 3800lbs and is rated 362hp. My Clk55 is rated 342hp and 34xx lbs. Its underrated like the LS1 F-bodies which have 325hp but dyno 310+whp.

The LS1 Vette 6spd is 32xx lbs and dynoes 310+whp and trap 108-109mph. My Clk55 is 200lbs heavier and traps identical speed. So what would my whp be?

Have you weighed your car? Your trap speed and dyno suggest closer to 400hp or so per comments on that type of dyno. Your trap speed is no different than a well-driven LS2 GTO as well (same with your ET).

I'm thinking your car weighs closer to 3600lbs.

At the drag strip it was 35xxlbs with me in it. I'm 140. I've seen stock LS2 GTOs trapping 106-107mph in 40F. At the time I didnt have the Clk55. But my trap speed was in 60F humid.

Thanks man! The car surprised me when I ran my friends 02 Pont WS6 6spd(lid,headers,full exhaust) from 65-130 we were dead even. He puts down 330whp. BTW my car is stock to the filters.

CLK55
Regarding the CLK55, sometimes you just get a really good engine from the factory. If AMG dynos an engine, and it makes too much power do you think they toss it in the reject pile?, lol. Maybe he accidentally got one of the engines meant for the DTM teams??

No doubt he as a fast one.

You must have some good boltons. You have the LS1 or LS2 motor? My friends WS6 traps 112-113mph.

sounds about right. my buddy just ran a 13.5 at 113 in his LS1 camaro in texas the other night. he pulled a 2.5 60' and spun shifting between every gear (he was on blad streets). he has lid, longtubes, and catback.

I still don't understand why my Clk55 is dead even in 3rd gear roll vs my friends WS6 which trap 112 or so. I guess the 55 motor opens up at autobahn speeds.
