c350 vs Hemi Dodge Charger
Just wanted to share my experience with a charger today. I was merging onto the highway and a black charger went from the right lane to the fast lane to let me in. As soon as i get up to speed he pulled up right next to me and was gassing it taunting me, so I decided what the heck lets see what my car can do. He guns it and i quickly gun it too, he starts out a hood in front of me and I start to real him in and gain half a car length on him and shut it down around 95mph. when we started I believe we were both doing 60-65? I was pleasantly suprised. The Highway power on these cars suprises me. I'm pretty stoked on the outcome.
He had an exhaust so yes I'm sure it was a hemi, I use to own a 300c.
I plan on getting a speed innovation tune so im sure the next time I run into a hemi on the highway it will be with me more than a half car lead

Whatever there's gas in...
300c drivers are the worst out of the two, which I don't understand because that car is literally shaped like a brick, factor that and the blingbling 22" wheels that 90% of them have and well...

+1 they all got HUGE rims and think their car is fast... that rim size can only slow down the car

I mostly see the V6 mooch-model 300 on the giant ferris wheel-esque wheels driving like tools..It's like they took the money they saved on the V8 hemi and used it for the down payment on their gaudy rent-a-wheels..

*sigh*... MBZ C350 owners lowering themselves to street racers... Nevertheless, a kill is a kill, personally, I wished it wasn't done on a public road.
Have you seen the statistics of the average Chrysler 300C owner and Dodge Charger owner? Look at education level and household income and you'll soon find out that those drivers aren't (on average) the most upstanding individuals. Ironically, statistically, the average MBZ driver isn't much different. Er, maybe not so ironic.

Out of curiosity, when you say "Average MBZ Owner" what model does the average owner drive? I doubt it'd be an S or any of the flagship models...not to be an *** but wouldn't average be closer to the E and C-Class (non AMG) range?

About 10 years ago, the wife was car shopping, and the 300m had come out recently with a 265hp motor (or something like that), so I was interested in a test drive just for the heck of it.
That car was a complete dog. Not sure what those horses were doing, perhaps eating hay. Also felt like driving a coffin supported by slinkies.

I kinda liked the 300C. I has one of the better, more stable and responsive feels of any of the USA derived sedans. I drive a lot of different ones with my travels and the Chrysler is not bad compared to a crown vic or a Impala, lol. It is the same basic platform as the E-klasse. Same trans, same brakes, some of the parts even have MB numbers on them. It does have the big pos mexican v8 in it but it is ok for what it is. I would not trade my AMG for one but it would make a good daily driver. Course now that Fiat is part owner of Chrysler, I guess we will see a model with the F430 V8 in it right?? and with Fiat punta brakes, lol.
Just call me average I guess...

You know, there was a time when making that statement did not even make sense or would get you shot. Perhaps both. Sad.
On the 300M, yeah I owned one for 6 years. 2001 was the best model and it was a special edition. That SOB had several issues, transmission replaced, all door seals had to be replaced, tie rods, all were done before I reached 120K miles. The car was cool up until then, after all the fixes I sold it. I am still smoking damn mad when I think of all the money I had spent on fixing it.
The 300C is a damn brick, and is slow as hell. Grille way too big, poor quality on some parts, but it was one of the best cars Chrysler pushed. The Hemi SRT was the only one worthy of me driving it, for that matter just sitting in it. Same thing with the Charger and the Challenger, anything less than the top SRT is a waste of time and money IMO. The V6 editions of these cars are turds, and you know you can't polish a turd.

SRT-6
My first Mercedes was 10 years old when I bought it and it drove better than all the new cars I had tested so I like MB's. I also like my 300C and it's not "slow". It's not "fast" either. It stops good on the street. But it's not a good track car stock. Mine has only had a few issues. Being an early build (may 2004) it had the right pull issue and the sunroof seems immune to all attempts to stop the rattles. It gets good gas mileage on the highway (25mpg). Sucks gas in town (12 mph-heavy foot). No issues with the motor. The 2009 5.7's with the vvt cams run real strong so watch out, not to mention all the SRT's. No, they can't touch the refinement of a MB but it's a great car for the price. IMO. I love my SRT-6 with it's AMG 3.2 but for your information, it's not nearly as smooth as the 5.7. So now you have my slant on this.

My parents rented one out in California. The 2.7L engine was slow, and gas mileage suffered from such a small engine moving such a big car. The steering was very light compared to our BMW's, but it was pretty comfortable. We were able to cruise at 80-90MPH very easily, until it came up to a hill where it had to downshift.
