Video E55 vs IS300 Turbo
Raced a friends Mercedes E55 (350 hp V8 ) They are built for high speed so I was in his territory. Video shows me getting next to him at about 50 mph and waiting for him to make the move, he does I pulled some car lengths pretty quickly. Second part of the video I flashed him to make a u-turn, he did but didnt wait for me! He was about 3 car lengths infront when he punched it BEFORE me, basically I catch up to him, lift the throttle due to slower traffic and make the pass at VERY high triple digit speeds. Gotta love the top end of turbo's. And have to say the same thing about the sound of that Euro V8, niceeeee

P.S. I was running pump gas, 16psi.

Yes your right about racing a stock car, its a surprisingly fast car that has all the luxuries, carries 5 people VERY confortably. You could put the Kleeman Supercharger, but then it wouldnt be stock, putting it on the same level as my car, making me turn up the boost where my car really puts down power. Check my sig for some dyno numbers on high boost.
I just like to post the vids because I love seeing fast, confortably luxury 4 doors run. Im tired of seeing vids of loud, uncomfortable heavily modified American, Japanese sportscars.
Ill try to run a couple of newer E55 that are around here and get some vids, those would be some good races.

No longer car shopping...
Let's see you try that with the new E55
Results would be quite different with the new E55 as it comes STOCK with a s/c. Bet you money, you would get left behind in your mod'd IS300

IS300 Turbo Stage 2 Toyomoto
The toyomoto stage 2 is around the $12K range. Check out www.toyomoto.com
The car off boost drives 100% stock, only difference is the little louder noise from the exhaust since its a 3in. The car starts to boost by 3.5K rpms so lag is minimal. The car runs on a stock automatic tranny with only an oil cooler and an electronic shift kit to help it shift faster.
With pump gas, I can run 16psi which dynoed at 360rwhp on a very safe tune becuase I run 89 octane! Only gas available in my country, Dominican Republic.
With race gas and 22psi which its where the turbo eficiency is, the car produced 504rwhp and 490lb ft of torque. The car has full stereo equipment and only took the spare tire and sub off the car and ran 11.99@120mpg with a bad 2.1 60ft with race gas.
You can check some pics and dynos of the car at my sig.

IS 300 turbo
According to your quarter mile time you can burn a new Viper or a Porsche 911 Turbo or a Ferrari 550 Maranello and keep up with a Porsche 911 GT2 or a Saleen S7?!
Howe long does your engine last? Can you go fast for an hour or so without worrying?

The engine in the is is a 2JZ-GE, very similar to the Supras turbos 2JZ-GTE (different oil pump, head, but same rods, pistons). You may already know that the supra engine has been considered one of the strongest engines built for boost with completely forged internals. Proven reliability for up to 800rwhp with stock internals. Its a very heavy engine because its an iron block, making it very strong to handle boost. The lexus SC300 which has the same engine as the IS have been boosted since 1993 and have shown to go past the 100K mile mark and still show no signs abnormal engine wear.
The weakpoint in the car is the trans, either need to put in a supra 6 speed or rebuilt the enore auto tranny to handle past the 400rwhp mark. It wont go pass that mark without giving problems.
The modifications were done in 4 days, very hard working 4 days. Hardest part was creating a return fuel system in the car. Then a thicker head gasket was placed to lower the compression to 8.5:1. After that it was all simple, change the exhaust manifold, bolt on the turbo, change the injectors and fuel pump and put it a standalone computer, the Haltech, totally programable via a loptop. Stock computer was kept in the car to keep all settings stock except fuel and timing.
There are a couple of companys coming out with shippable turbo kits for the IS300, stage 1 starts at 330rwhp, stage 2 is 450+rwhp and stage 3+. There are more than 30 boosted IS300 in the US already. Check out www.pfsupercars.com and www.swiftracing.com

its like having a 4 door supra.
i want to see a race between your car and a 03' cobra with pulley kit and chip. With those 2 mods on that car it should be a pretty good race.
