Spanked By An S4 Today
Only played with one previously and never really had a race but appeared my E was a bit quicker. Had a guy in an S4 want to go on my way back from the beach this morning so I went and got spanked. That was completely unexpected.
Started at around 60 and he got a good jump on me but I thought I was reeling him in until we ran out of room and had to call it off.
Don't believe a stock S4 can do that. Thoughts?

Assuming you're talking about the 06 E55 in your list.. the S4 was likely tuned.. stage 1 / 2 S4's are quite potent (2010+).
Mine ran a 12.44 @ 111 with just software, the most conservative one at that(stasis). Some Stage 2 cars run 11.7-11.9 @ 118-119.

Yep. Definetly the E55 which is factory stock. The S4 had a nice exhaust sound that was not stock and also a nice set of non factory wheels and tires so I doubt he was stock. Still, he pulled me pretty hard considering even a stock E55 is pretty quick.
No way he beats me in either my Camaro and certainly not in my Factory Five Cobra both of which are quicker than the E with the Cobra, (2,100 lbs and 475 HP), being quite a bit quicker. Have never lost in the Cobra and only to a Z06 in the Camaro but, it was close.

For the record, I don't know **** about Audi cars. This one looked to be an older model but was obviously modified. I could see and hear his aftermarket exhaust and he was sporting some nice wide wheels and tires too. Plus, he picked on me first while I was cruising minding my own business. Most guys won't do that unless they think they've got you and I'm pretty sure he's spanked an E55 before by the way he stuck his arm out the window to wave bye bye as he was pulling away.
I was sort of expecting to lose but I like to play a little when the opportunity presents and don't get bent out of shape when I do. There's always somebody faster.
Just for laughs, I've been cruising that same area in my Factory 5 to get even but haven't run into him.....yet.

I'll chime in here. Yes, the B5 S4 (2000-2002 MY pictured first in the above post) with OEM Borg Warner K04 Turbo's (from the European B5 RS4 that we never got here in the states) are a popular thing to do. However, modifying one to that level is ~$7K-$10K+ and owning one can be quite costly. Hell, owning just regular B5 S4 un-modded is expensive. The reason there are so many in existence is because the OEM Borg Warner K03's that came on the US spec B5 S4 are highly prone to blowing up, so when they do, many people just opt for the K04's to replace them when they have to go to the expense of replacing the blown K03's. These kits are around 447 HP and 467 ft./lbs. torque at the crank. The next step up from that is to go twin GT28 turbo's and those are the 600+ HP ones running around. That kit is somewhere ~$20K if I'm not mistaken and the engine MUST be built at that point. They are UNGODLY fast.
The B6 (2004-2005.5) that is pictured second in the above post is the same spec as the B7 (2005.5-2008). Those were weaksauce 340 HP 4.2L V8's in a heavy pig of a car. They're slow.
The B8 S4 (2010-Present) with the supercharged 3.0L V6 Stage I tuned are ~360 AWHP and ~345 AWTQ. If they've got the pulley and Stage II tune it's ~390 AWHP and ~380 AWTQ. Not bad numbers and they are ****ing fast, especially when equipped with the DSG trans.
If you got killed by a B6\B7 S4, I would be thoroughly shocked. A B8, even stock, not so much. They're pretty fast out of the box.

Good summary but a stock B8 isn't going to spank an E55 ever. Unless OP actually was reeling him in.
Although it had exhaust, that may suggest a tune as well if it was a B8.

It wasn't even close. He pulled me immediately from about 40 and kept it up till I backed off because of the wave. I thought he was waving off the race because of traffic or cops I couldn't see so I lifted. Wouldn't have made a diff as I wasn't catching him anyway.
Wasn't nearly as nice as the blue one pictured above but looked similiar.

Former Vendor of MBWorld
BUT
There is one yellow B7 S4 here where i am located
tuned and upgraded by a local tuner
and that car is so ridiculously fast i cant even explain to you how fast
it takes on fully built EVO 9s pushing well over 450 WHP
and has eaten a E55 alive
i know sounds impossible
but nothing is impossible
