Cadillac STS is VERY slow

Certainly compared to an '03 S55. I was following the Cadillac on a two lane road, speed limit 45, with him going about 40. The road opened up to four lanes and he stayed in the left lane so I passed him (slowly) on the right and sped up to about 50. I think he read the badge as I passed him and decided to try me on - sure enough, in the rear view mirror here he comes, so I wait, let him get even then drop it to second gear and go - pulled at least four car lengths on him up to about 100, then stood on the brakes to bring it back down to reasonable speed. He catches up, tries me again, exact same story, but this time when I stand on the brakes he keeps going. We both then get stopped at a traffic light side by side, I take off from the light, he doesn't - guess he had enough. Very easy kill, but a kill none the less.

Good kill. The STS is slow because it has only 300 some odd horespower. What really sucks about the car is that it is a front wheel drive. Front wheel drive isn`t so bad in lower powercars but 300+hp is an absurd amount for the front tires to handle. It better have a limited slip differetial!

That's hilarious! I'm guessing the caddy driver didn't even know what kind of Benz he was up against.

3 Porsche rotation
Had a similar run-in with my W210 E55

Coming back from this year's PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester NY. I was in my car with a friend cruising 90 Thruway southbound. A new Cadillac Deville speed up to my rear and started to making hand gesture to get me out of his way. Then he jump to the right lane and start to push hard to pass me. I let him get next to me and then I let him have it. 391 lb of torque kick in and surged ahead. In seconds I was driving about 120 mph and at least 10 cars ahead of him. We slowed down and let him catch us and did the same thing to him again. This caddy driver was persistent and tried a few more time then he gave up and stay behind us at a save distance. Just as we are getting off the thruway, we waved at him and his passenger as they stared at us I bet he was wondering how he got spanked by a plain looking E-class

I think he might have known; he was driving very conservatively until I passed him slowly on the right - then I got the impression he read the nameplate on the rear and decided his quad exhaust caddy could take me?

Sorry, I didn't state that correctly. I'm thinking he didn't know the difference between 55, 500, 320, for example. That's how I was before we got our entry-level Benz. I had no idea about AMG versus the normal ones.

i think to most people the 55 is a lesser number then the 320 430 and 500 so they think u have a **** engine, not knowing about the AMG badge on the other side.

Why are you guys comparing your Benz to the large four door Caddy's? All of your slow *** benzes would lose to the new Cadillac XLR!

By the way, I own an STS. I also drive a Trans Am with a ****load of mods and it could rape all of your Benzes in a race...including the AMG CL65

HAHA, you idiot. I swear.

The XLR is 5.8 0-60.. all the rest of the 55's are well into the 4's.. Treynors BIG BODY 600 gets a 3.1 0-60.

Mods mods mods, you still don't have a refined vehicle. Compare stock to stock and then talk.

So... a stock SL55 does a 4.7 0-60, that alone rapes the XLR.

Actually...I put brown bread sound proofing on my Trans Am so it's actually more refined than your Benz! And it only cost me $400

I just relized, my S600 mention wasn't fair, it was modded. It had the ECU unlimit the torque.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say its because the S55 is a large four door Benz? That might have something to do with it.

Well, of course you won. Someone in a Ninja could beat someone on a tricycle as well.

Just buy a Trans Am, you'll have a faster, better-looking, and more refined car and you'll have an extra $70,000 in your pocket!

Trolling is an art and sorry bob but ya aren't very good at it. You have to at least be believable to make people mad. If I thought you were serious I'd take the time to argue but its obvious you're just trying to make people mad. Work on it though. You're striking at a nerve but your skills are lacking, you need more refinement.

Last time I checked Cadillac targeted the upper class.

So that makes it a fair fight? Come on - it's like shooting fish in a barrel.

I don't get this forum, honestly. Seems like most of the "fights" posted here could have been won by 14-year-olds with learner's permits, from the level of competition compared to the respective MB.
