M5 Kill
Not much to this story. My car only has 450 miles, so i have not been pushing it too much, until last night I pulled up to a light leaving my friends house on my way home & a silver M5 pulls right next to me, the light turned green right as he pulled up, so he kinda got me there, but i was right next to him until we got to the next light. We waited a few seconds until the green light, i powerbraked it to about 1400-1500 rpm's & when the light turned green we both took off, i instantly pulled more than 1/2 a car length on him & he could not catch me We went a couple of hundred feet more & I got a full car length lead on him. When we got to the next light he honked and gave me a thumbs up, I lowered my passenger window & reciprocated. Needless to say when this light turned green we both drove at our leisure pace. No hate, just two car enthusiasts having fun!!
Yes, I know i gotta chill out with my beast for a while, but this was an oppourtunity i had to take. This car is ****ing fast & that V8 is awesome, it feels like it can go on forever. I cant wait till this thing is fully broken in.

Today was the first time someone actually tried racing me but i didn't go. A black G35 coupe came up next to me at a light, looks at me and revs it. I just thought about it for a second and said nah, the car only has 150 miles on it. So i kinda just shake my head no, as he's revin it, haha. :p

sorry but the only thing you can beat in a s2000 is a acura tl. s2000 vs m5 has no chance. m5 just outpowers it in every way possible. you may beat him when he was listening to enigma and strolling down the highway half asleep.

Very nice kill with the new C55, it's not even broken in yet.

Yeah...
...the C55 actually has more torque than the M5, and its peak torque comes in about 1,000 rpm earlier than the M5...so, it has a slight advantage in weight/horsepower, but a *huge* advantage in weight/torque.
I've yet to lose to any M car, fwiw...the torque of these engines hampers them off the line traction-wise, but *especially* once they're rolling, fuggedddaboutit. There are very few cars out there that can take these babies from a roll.

Depends upon what you are after.
Lotus will be a fantastic track car, and an absolute blast to drive on canyon roads, but a terrible daily driver...no insulation, short wheelbase, etc. will give it a rough, noisy ride. But around a track, it will be fantastic...at under 2,000 pounds, it will feel like a go-kart. Much more of a pure man-machine interaction..
The SLK55 will be much more civilized, luxurious, a better daily driver...smoother ride, more quiet, but it won't give the sense of driver involvement and feel that the Lotus will....it will definitely kick the crap out of the Lotus in a straight line, but the Lotus would carry far more speed through the corners, given that it is nearly half the weight of the SLK.
These are two very different animals...definitely an apples-to-oranges comparison. D ecide what your priorities are, spend a good deal of time in each, and go for it! Have fun!!

I thought the lotus did a 4.4 secs on 0-60, not sure on that number. Yhea your arguments were pretty much the same line I was thinking about. I think SLK55 is a daily car with a great kick to it. I have qutie some time to decide on that. Will the SLK55 beat the C55 or are they both the same .
