Actually they do have - very few - good handlers (Corvette C5, c6, Viper, and Cadillac has made some serious progress).

Have you ever driven a Viper? They handle quite well with a halfway decent driver behind the wheel.

For comparison, from Road & Track Road Test Summary
Viper SRT-10: Skidpad = 1.04, Slalom = 68.6 mph
E55 AMG: Skidpad = 0.84, Slalom = 64.5
SL500: Skidpad = 0.90, Slalom = 67.6

Ok. Nurburgring anyone? Its not all about who can get through cones the fastest, you know? Although, I must say, Im suprised by its skidpad rating, and I must give it credit.

However the real battles are settled on the track, not between cones-- none the less, Im giving it full credit.

ive never been able to find numbers on the Viper at the ring. I do know a Z06 ran a 7.53 there.

Yeah. Are you sure about the Z06? Because I heard a SL55 pull off a 7.08 or something. I know the Z06 is slower-- but not that much slower.

Since I drive and race a Viper, I'm qualified to comment. The Gen-II Vipers and *especially* the Gen-III Vipers handle extremely well, although they are quite edgy and do not forgive mistakes. They're more like open-wheel race cars than street cars in that regard.

No, actually, the Z06 is faster around a track. The SL55 was tested at 8'12" by the German auto mag who conducts these tests, Auto Motor und Sport.
