Same here. One thing I found is talk to different dealers in other areas, and they will tell you for that area what they use. Be careful, but the Mobil1 0-40 Synthetic is your safest choice, recommended by Mercedes for most all areas.

Mobil 1 5w-40. It says it is an "SUV and Truck" blend. I can get it in the five quart bottles and save a bit of money that way. 0w-40 is almost $6 per quart where I get it. If I could buy a small drum of 0w-40 I would, but that has yet to happen.
Speaking of this, where do people get the oil filters? Dealer? they are like $20 a peice there, is there an online vendor that supplies them for less?

Last oil change I did, I got the 0w40 for $5.49/qt, and the filter was around $18 for the fleece one. They had the paper for $13. These were at Autozone in Northern VVirginia.
