Yep, they come from MB like that. It's not a panoramic, they call it "skyview."

My mechanic has 1. he told me it was only available on the 1999 models. Don't know if it is true or not. But it is very rare to see them. If it only had the 3rd row seat option...

You should avoid purchasing an ML with this roof. They are quite troublesome and very expensive to repair. those that have not broken will break.

+1 to that... This is why they stopped making them.. Really neat roof to have I remember seeing one at the dealer and they had it opened up in the showroom and I think it would be neat to have during the nice summer nights.

I believed those are panoramic sunroof and I think benz did make this according to your order, forgive me if I m wrong cz I did try those and is quite long and bigger then normal sunroof.

Actually they stopped making them for 2 reasons, firs the reliability and second they would not fit without a major redesign on the later ML's that included the curtain air bags. They were more common than you might think. I had tried to order an ML with it at one time and my dealer refused to sell it to me due to the problems. That was a good move on his part. And "pottie" you have no idea what you are talking about.l

I have 100K miles on my 2000 ML320 with no problems with the skyview roof. The No. 1 reason to stop making them was incompatibility with the curtain airbags...

They were not special order items...just a little harder to find with the right color combinations...

I started off looking for a opal black ML with java interior....finally was forced to settle for a silver ML with grey interior...in trying to chase that roof.

I am glad though, about the color choices I was forced into. Silver is the best color if you intend to keep your ML for long...color fading, if any is barely noticable on silver and silver is the easiest to maintain..not to mention, silver cars are less likely to get into accidents as per NHTSA surveys...

i thought gray cars(which silver falls in to) get in to the most accidents...

in any case the lamella(I think) Sky View roof is a head ache and a costly one for most W163 owners... I do agree, DEF hot

2001 ML430 has the skyroof with 3rd row seats. No problems, only owner, 113k miles

Hi i used to have an Ml430 with skyview i had it for 5 years no probelms with the sunroof and it didnt have 3rd row seats and it was a 2000 model.
