Ml320 Will not start
I have a 2000 ml320 my SUV cranks but does no start.
I changed the crank sensor and the cam sensor but I still can not start it please i need help
thank you

The Crank Sensor and the fuel pump failures have identical symptoms. Crank, crank - no start..except that the CPS failure will cause the engine to start when dead cold.
You could also be getting cylinder misfires, which could mean foul spark plugs or bad ignition wires..
How many miles on the ML? Were the plugs/wires replaced at 100K miles?
Lastly, was the fuel filter replaced between 60-75K miles? A choked fuel filter could also cause the same symptom..
And also, as mentioned above, the key could be a cause of it too..
The dealer programed a new key and all was well.

It is behind the driver side rear fender liner. Do you have the updated filter already? If not
you will need the new filter and new fuel lines that come with it.
Also to do this the rear seat has to be unbolted at the rear and tilted forward in order to
access the fuel pump where the fittings for the new lines go. I can get part numbers and
probably post a diagram. Autohausaz.com had some of the better prices I have seen for
OEM stuff on the fuel system.
It should be a different thread than this however. We are going off topic.
You will have to pull off the drivers rear wheel to lift up the edge of the wheel arch liner to get a good peek at the filter.
Then I can post the correct lines if needed. If it is the updated one then you just need the filter and do not have to access the top of the fuel pump/sender under the back seat. Also you save money on the fuel lines.
Do you think that could be a CPS issue? The engine starts , works for a few minutes and then dies. Next try I cannot start the engine. As I mentioned, I tried after two days and the same thing happend??
Thanks for the post.
If it doesn't you will have to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor.
Everything depends on how you changed the battery. If you left the key in the ignition while you removed and installed the battery cables, you might have toasted your key, ECM or AAM.
Think carefully as to how you did this.
