LED plate light....?

So I've search the threads and found several discussions regarding which size and brand LED works for an 08 ML....
Answers vary.
Is anyone currently using an LED license plate light bulb that does not throw an error code and if so, is it 36mm or 39mm and what brand?

Thanks

I have 36mm ones from ijdmtoy.com $36 a pair, because it has a resistor on it. The problem is the bulb doesn't fit well with the resistor on it, both width and length. So I had to make new holes other than the pre-cut ones that come with the car. By doing this the bulb sits a little lower and so it fit better, mine was a tight fit at the end but it closed up well. I will post pics soon.

They say it is...ordered it today, already shipped. Patel probably ended up with the older square centered one is why he needed to modify his set up.
I will post ASAP when I get them in.
Other companies on eBay have similar for less but I've heard good reviews of this company in other theads in other models, especially when dealing with "light out" errors.

why would you want to make your plate more visible than you have too?

360 I didn't do it to make it look brighter, just wanted the blueish white look instead of the yellow

Exactly as Patel said....more white/blue-ish to match the front HID kit and matching fogs and parking lights.

What are you doing that you need your " identity " hidden?

Finally got the bulbs in today...wow, nice difference. 36mm is the correct size and the LEDs with the resistors is the way to go..no errors.
Kinda pricey at 38.00 out the door, but now they match the HID kit, fogs, and parking lights.

Getting Error Message

So I ordered and installed the LED_ERROR_FREE_D36_SKU29 from iJDMtoys and they work, but I still get the error message in the display?? Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Simple plug and play right? I emailed iJDM haven't gotten a response yet... Anybody else have the same problem?

I had a tiny issue with the left side. It appeared to not be making a good contact and would occassionally flicker, causing an error.
I just opened it back up, reseated it, it has been perfect since then.
Something odd I notice when installing the bulbs....they turned on when properly seated in the holder, even with the car off, key in my pocket. Turned the key on, then off, and they worked as normal after that.

I actually uninstalled and repositioned and now they don't even work. One question though, do both lights have to be installed before turning them on? Only I ask is because when I reinstalled the OEM bulbs, I did the left one first and then turned on the car, but it didn't light up. Then I reinstalled the OEM right one and now they both work.

But even after repositioning I still got error codes on both... I did notice on the pic that was posted of the bulb, the one I ordered has the 2 LED's, not 3 like in the pic...

My bulbs are 6 LEDs total, 3 per side. They worked perfectly after repositioning. Maybe a bulb thing?

I did notice that when I placed the order... But the site specifies this one to work on MB, and that the 3 LED's do not.... Odd. Well glad to know yours works. What year is your ML? I have a 2009, wondering if year matters.

2008....should not be any difference. I ordered 36mm festoon 6 LED....I never contacted anyone there.
They are an exact match for shape, length, and width the the original bulb.
In fact, I put one in my neighbor's 2002 E320 and it worked on his car with one LED and one factory bulb.
I think you were sent the wrong bulbs.
Here is what I have...D36 SKU30-0...they are in the euro error free section
