Tires for ML350
What tires are people running? I need to change out my continental 19s that came with the car originally. I have dedicated snow tires so it would be nice to have some better handling tires than all-season or if people know of good all-season I'd be fine with that too. I did a search and it wasn't useful. TIA.

Since you have dedicated winter tires you should stay away from all seasons. Pick a tire that is excellent on dry and wet pavement. All seasons are not good for all seasons. They compromise so that they can be decent at all types of pavement. You have an opportunity to get a good summer tire that will provide better traction on dry pavement and also be very good on wet (but terribly dangerous on snow/ice). check tirerack.

Were you unhappy with the Contis? I don't have any experience with other tires on the ML (except my winter Pirellis) but I like the Contis. My only criticisms are tramlining -- which happens with any wide, low-profile tire regardless of brand -- and a tendency to aquaplane in heavy rain.
You definitely don't want all-seasons.

I wasn't unhappy with the Contis. Just looking for something different I think. I've never used the Contis in the snow so didn't really care about that. In the dry and wet, I'd say they were so so... sometimes in lots of water, I could feel the tire slide a little and pull the steering wheel in a certain direction.

Depends on your budget really.
All Seasons stink in all conditions, they just get by. Get yourself some good summer tires.
Such as:
-Hankook Evo Ventus 12 - Budget tire, but DAMN GOOD(~$180/tire)
-Michelin Pilot Sport 3 - Used on LOTS of AMG cars, BEST Dry and very good wet traction also but pricey(~$325/tire)
-Toyo Proxes T1R's are also very very good tires
-Michelin Pilot Sports are also very good tires
-Falken Zeix 912 A/S are also pretty good cheap tires(~$130/tire)
-Bridgestone Potenza Pole Positions are also very good

I've always had this question about tires on tirerack... there are the summer passenger tires and summer light street/sport truck tires. Can one put summer passenger tires on a SUV or do you have to always use light truck tires?

^^You need to check on the load rating for each of the tires. Most Passenger Car tires do not hold sufficient weight for SUVs. If you exceed the load rating the tires may blow but WILL at least bubble up and be useless after a measly couple bumps.
