Hi everyone, I think my 2011 ML350 is now experiencing this. I've noticed this intermittent "no start condition when turning the key" a few month ago but it wasn't until today where I thought I was totally stranded where the car would not start after 5-6 tries. I sat in the car for about 5min before trying again then it started. Another symptom I noticed when putting the ignition into the 2nd position I don't see any power coming on anywhere when this position usually turns on things like the radio, etc

Anyone on here ever get Mercedes Benz to take care of this using this Service Campaign?

Well that's that....my VIN didn't come up as covered under this service campaign.

Strange that when I called around to Indy shops one told me even if it was the EIS that needed replacement that Mercedes Benz won't sell him the part. But other shops are quoting me ~$1100-$1300 for this repair.

So the shop called back and the EIS needs replacing, $1395. I'm wondering why so expensive? I can't image the part being only a few hundred dollars and this guy replaced the damn thing and reprogrammed the ignition switch in 4 minutes!!! So I don't see a huge amount of labor going into this replacement.

MB has an elaborate bureaucracy and record keeping established to manage and protect your security with respect to spare keys, ignition switches, etc. Your fee for this is recovered in the parts price.
