2008 ML550 - Slight creeping/squeaking noise

I have a very slight creeping/squeaking noise while going over parking lot speed bumps, which appears to be coming from the front passenger side.

The truck has 105k miles on it, so what do you think will need some attention?

- Shocks
- Control Arms
- Bushings

Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

This place is a joke.
Check the front upper control arm bushings. I'm currently replacing mine on the ML63 but my ML350 will get complete new arms due to mileage. The bushings tear inside and the squeaking is the sound of rubber sliding against itself.

Thanks very much Brad.

Would this possibly also account for the truck feeling somewhat "wobbly/wobbling" while driving over pavement which is not smooth, pavement with some imperfections? Feels like the truck wobbles a bit up and down, ................. not sure how to really describe it.

Houston, you must take your vehicle to a front end/alignment shop where they can suspend the truck to find the problem.

Thank you.

I don't think I am quite there just yet. I have been driving E class or S Class with Sports Suspension for the last years. Maybe I need to get used to driving a "truck" vs. a sedan, which sits much lower to the ground and has therefore a stiffer ride.
Wondering if I need to get used to driving this ML, and that the ride is maybe what it is? I possibly may be too picky based on my previous cars?

The noise over the speed bump is not very obvious, I really have to listen for it.

This is what a bad upper control arm bushing looks like. Also check the front sway bar bushings.

DANG, thanks for sharing Brad. This indeed does not look good.

As a matter of fact, I dropped the truck off this morning at my trustworthy mechanic to investigate and address the issue.

The verdict from my trustworthy Indy, truck needs to following:

- Lower Control Arm Bushings (Uppers are ok)
- Sway Bar Bushings
- Front Shocks

All this shall explain why the truck felt somewhat "wobbly"

Finally got around to replacing both front upper control arms ($78/pair Ebay) on my '08 ML350 w/176k miles, and wow, what a difference in ride quality and all the creaking noise over bumps is gone.
