AIRMATIC INFO- W164 Bulletins, Service Docs, Diagrams, Settings, Remove & Install
With so much scattered information on how to diagnose and repair the W164s Airmatic system, I've compiled this thread with as many official MB documents as I can download, specific to the Airmatic system. Hopefully others will add to this as well.
The documents I have downloaded are specific to a 2009 ML550 with ADS (Code 489), so please note there may be differences between the models. I'd suggest the only difference between models might be the ADS and possibly the location of a small number of components. Please also note the dangers of getting underneath a car with a faulty airmatic system.

Lol. Its super easy. Remove the front inner wheel arch on the compressor side - there are half a dozen screws and it sits at the top of the wheel arch. Resembles and old style fuel filter. From memory it just presses on - no need for a clamp. I will look for you and see if there's a guide. If you jack up the car and have it on stands, you can do it without removing the wheel.
