Wow pretty great info I would love for the puddle lights to have been working on the truck since day one I mean Geez it is a Benz .... Pay good money to deal with all this extra run around....

2012 ML350
I took my 2012 ML350, in this morning with the printout of the fix description by MBtech. They first confirmed that the puddle lights were not working, they then tried out the fix mentioned by MBtech, but that didn't work.
They kept the car and gave me a loaner, I just got a message
that they have resolved the problem, my puddle lights are now working.
I don't know what the fix was, but will find out tomorrow when I collect the car and let you guys know.

You should ask them for a printout of the quick test of your vehicle and point out EZS.

Here is an update email I just received from customer support regarding the puddle light issue, Inquiry sent few weeks ago.
"We understand your concern and wish we could just update the vehicle system to have to locator light work immediately. There were changes made to this model for 2012 and this feature, though standard, is not functioning with the new head units and control systems in the vehicle. As advised, Germany is working on the fix and it will be sent to our dealers as soon as it is provided.
Should you wish to discuss this, please feel free to contact me at 800-367-6372 ext 4673."
Maybe Germany engineers should contact MBTech to get the fix

Mine fixed. Here is what the invoice says-
"Checked for software update SCN codes. LF and RF door control link. Instrument and rain/light sensor coded. After checking, confirmed repair." So basically, they updated the software....I think.

Update:
They fixed my car yesterday! It was ready around 4pm - I had college so I wasn't able to pick up till this morning.
I got my ML, and all is well - I don't know what it looks like at night however tonight I will take a picture and post it for everyone to see if it is important to them to have and take in for service.
There was no charge for anything.
