It's amazing how long stuff like this takes. Seems like a bright engineer could figure it out in a day; here we are 3 months later. I know anything in big corporations is not easy.

Yes, they did. Thanks for your help...however for my review of the mirror lights is as follows:
-Not as bright as a thought
-If you have black car, it will be harder to spread the light.
-On a white car it would look good and spread light better
-When the lights come on the mirrors are folded, some of the light is blocked by the body panel. Some reflects
-If it is dark, and there are no lights around, and there actually is a big puddle...the light is not going to help much.
I also tried taking a picture for everyone, however I couldn't get a good picture of ML with the puddle/mirror lights on.
I wouldn't rush for this, if you can't fit it into your schedule. If so just have it looked at during your 10000K/1 Year service.
I would actually say the lights are less than 50% as bright as I thought they would be. The lights on the interior of the vehicle are brighter than the mirror lights.
I barely even notice the mirror/puddle lights really.

My LX lights an area about 3' out from the car and fairly bright for about 5' beside it, but close to 10' of enough light to see most things. The 6 - 7' I mentioned is how far I am from it when it turns these and running boards on (vs ML that appears not to do anything until you've put your hand in the handle? And likely stepped in something already).
This is the kind of thing I'd have expected MB to be on top of, not behind Japanese mfr's.

Just had the EZS done to fix my lights. Worked like a charm just as MBtech stated. The LED puddle lights look good and have a decent spread to them with a good 2' of good brightness and about 4' with dimmer light. Perfect and classy!

I had mine fixed today. Needless to say, the dealer had no idea that this was an issue. I provided a copy of the service receipt uploaded earlier in this thread plus MBtech's solution. They said it didn't work, but 2.5 hours later they were working. My receipt says "performed SCN coding to update software for door modules". Um....kinda looks like what MBtech suggested!!!!!

The 90w cbm380's we use in our wash lights would work and give RGBW color options, but they might have to upgrade the wiring. :-)

I did some testing and what it seems like is that the lights do project about 4 feet as the user states. However, from what I found it is about 3-4 feet FROM the car when the ground is light colored as in (concrete, cement, garage) however on asphalt or something similar the surface absorbs the light in a way to it isn't that useful above 1.5 ft. I have tried taking a picture however, the light is not bright enough to get on camera.
I am happy with getting the fixed regardless of my issues, I just wish they were brighter. Its almost like upgrading your light bulbs in your headlights, when you go for a drive its not as good as you thought they would be for an upgrade. Its still better than it was before, you just expected more. I am still a happy customer, I just expected more from a car at 5x, xxx you know?

My dealer was unaware also. They had no idea that there were puddle lights. Fixed same day. You will be fine Marcus, if anything send them a link to this page. Thats what I did, they had it ready about 1 hour later.
I love my dealer already.

what about the rear passenger door lights(red)?
The dealer is telling their customers that they can't "fool" the vehicle that it is dark outside? Come on now; I simply put my hand over the light sensor on the outside from the windshield, just above the rear-view mirror, and my headlights come on during the day when in "auto" mode? Ridiculous!
I also noticed there is a red lens at the bottom of the rear passenger doors. Are these supposed to illuminate as well or are they simply a reflector?
