Can Multi-Color Ambient Lighting be Turned Off?

I have ambient lighting in my '13 SL and, like you, I've "generally" wanted a darker cabin too. But after having it, I can't fathom ever owning another vehicle without it. And yes, it can be turned off.

It's funny how clear the pics in the book and on the MB website shows the white/neutral color. Every time I switch to it, even at level 5, you can barely see it. And scrolling through the settings on the steering wheel, there is an option that says "disable"

Sorry to hear.. I figured black interiors would absorb the ambient lighting 
My interior in my '13 SL is tan so very reflective AND attractive.
Of all the things to comment about, EVERY passenger and gawker loves my car's ambient lighting.
It's the new "must have" option for me going forward in ALL my vehicles.

Hahaha so true! White you cant even see... I stick with solar... its the brightest and matches all other interior lighting...

i have a question about the ambient lighting option, i just signed the paper works with Mercedes dealer, and my car is on the way for delivery. But now i would like to get the ambient lighting option for my car, can i add it later or should i contact the sale man and find another car with that option ?

thanks bro, yeh i think i might talk to the sale man again, cause beside the ambient lighting, i also want the panorama sunroof, hk sound system and 20'' wheels, i missed a lot of good stuff
(my order was: p01 package, lighting package, keyless go, running board which were good but i fail on lane tracking, trailer hitch
is there any inconvenience or fee for switch to other car that match my demands ???

See to me, "Solar" matches the orange of the buttons on the console and neautral DOES NOT look white but a whitish-orange.
Polar to me just looks goofy with the orange glow of the console/door/every other button.

I loved this lighting. Get more comments from passengers. While going to Ruth Chris I switched it from Solar to Polar and when someone commented that the light changed color, I told them they were crazy. They caught me when I switched it back. :-)

He does have 7 colors for ambient light like purple, neon blue, orange, red, pink.
Laker fan here so had it on purple!
