Sunroof glass tinting.

I have enjoyed this new 14 Bluetec for a few weeks now. My one issue is the glass on the pano roof and the heat that transfers in. Has anyone tinted the glass up here and I'm assuming 5% would be the best. Thanks.

we used the Carbon XP on all the windows, CXP5 on the Sunroof. The specs on that are VLT 6%... TSER 59%....UV > 99%. The windshield was CXP&) ... VLT 65%....TSER 44%.... UV>99%

I imagined it worked quite well.

It works as well as it can in the Arizona heat/sun. ;-)

I would like to have my pano roof glass done also. Darker the better. Never had tinting done before, it is messy? Will they mess up the interior doing this?

They wet the glass and the film using water to activate the adhesive and to position the film on the glass. So the interior may get some water on it, which is easily wiped up. No big deal.

The pano roof cover on the ML is disappointing. I'm glad the one I tested had a pano otherwise I would have ordered it. On sunny days, which is 360+ days per year in SoCal, the sun intrudes too much for our preference. Every other car I've driven in with pano has the ability to completely block the sun.

Thanks for the reply. I seldom use the pano roof what so ever and just want to decrease the heat load on the interior.
