My car dropped $1.6K in value. This is crazy.
Just compared two KBB TraidIn values
One from March 24Th and one from May 29th.
2.1K miles for this time. Its 2014BT 76K on it.
Car lost $1.6K in value.
Compare to my wife's car $300 for the same time frame. Nissan Murano 2015.
Why its losing value that fast? I understand it should be faster than mainstream cars but not this fast.

Kbb values are fluctuating and based on auction numbers, not real world enough to go by.
Did you buy it as an investment? Probably not a good idea.
It's a much more expensive car than a Murano, depreciation is at a percentage rate and will be larger dollar amounts?
Market for used Benz vehicles in general is soft, nobody wants diesel anything right now with the VW issues?
I feel like if you searched at all or thought logically about this, you would have an answer. Not really rocket science here.

Usually depreciation is high at the beginning, and than its smaller and smaller.
Not in my case, it was around $500 per month and at this time I was expecting to see values between 400-450 per month.
Speaking on market MB sales are up for new cars most of them lease, not sure about used.
Good point on diesel, if car drops value that fast and Im not sure in it if it can last long makes me think of getting something else.

A year ago, we bought our 2012 ML350 (gas) with 97,500 miles for $20,250. Since then, we've put 25,000 miles on it. Today, its retail value, according to Edmunds, is $19,004. To me, that's pretty phenomenal depreciation.

this is what I'm talking about, Edmunds shows even lower value, I guess it's a;; about diesels.

Yeah, it's such a shame about the diesels. When I was shopping for an ML, my service department point-blank advised me to stay away from the diesel, because the extra maintenance costs would far outpace any gas savings. I don't remember that dealer ever having any of the current-generation used Bluetecs on its lot, and that's probably because they don't want to create aggravated customers.
Given that we put 25,000 miles on the car per annum, we could have saved at least $1,200 a year in gas if we'd gotten the diesel...

It's crazy how VW really screwed the pooch when it comes to Diesels. The idiocy of VW (and perhaps others as well); with the Emissions-cheating, followed by the market's unfounded fears, then resurfacing ugly diesel stereotypes, causing cries of Diesels are "Dirty" again!!
These developments causing people to butt-clench at the mere mention of diesel, has really only benefited those of us unaffected by the fear-mongering. So Diesels are a four letter word again in America.. (Sideways Thanks VW!)... You caused a huge taint on diesels but have made used, quality-ones affordable... Those of us that enjoy motoring, are looking for the fuel-efficiency of a diesel, an amazing range, SUV capability, and a solid-feel can now find it affordably! The answer for me was to grab a 2015 Bluetec ML350 right off lease from one owner with no accident history. The engine will go for years, the solidity and safety is there, the depreciation off initial MSRP is huge ($85K Cdn New, $30K Cdn 3 years later) all because of this VW Diesel-Gate BS... and now you can't even buy a Diesel SUV from Mercedes as it's no longer a worthwhile market for them.
I guess I have VW-Diesel-Gate to thank for the lack of appeal of current off-lease ML 350 Bluetec's, therefore putting it in my driveway! Might have to hang on to it for ten or more years and really stretch those dollars!.
4 Bikes on a Platform? No Prob!

Here in Canada, it's a 2015 ML350 not 250. I don't think we ever got the 250 Bluetec on the ML. There is an E250 though.
As for keeping it that long, I recognize the key will be frequent oil changes and maintenance. I am now on the lookout for a good indy MB specialist in the Toronto area, preferably with a Bluetec expert...
