ECO Mode Default to OFF Position - ML350 Bluetec W166 - Possible?
I would appreciate the option to switch it ON if required, but I would like the default position starting to be OFF.
I believe the ECO function is a waste of resources in my situation. Thank you.
(newbie so direction is also welcome)

I do know Australian cars are specced very differently (read much higher spec) than most Countries and this explains why they cost so much down here.

We make a product to accomplish this very task that you speak of. Check out our Eco Off product at the link below.
We specialize in MB electronic upgrades, and we know you'll be happy with our solution. Don't take our word for it though -- take a look at our reviews online, or even within this web forum.
Lots of satisfied customers.
Also worth noting: Our product doesn't change any vehicle coding or programming -- it is installed and works with existing vehicle configuration, thus not making any changes to your vehicle's ECU.https://www.midcityengineering.com/p...s-benz-eco212/
