strange and mysterious vibrations ML250
I've been battling for some time with vibrations that seem to come from the front while the vehicle is underway, especially as the speed increases and they tend to decrease as I accelerate.
I took it to mercedes several times, I initially replaced the engine mounts, then the front shock absorbers (without shock absorber mounts because they were unobtainable), with the replacement of the shock absorbers the situation improved but did not disappear, according to the mechanics (both mercedes and others 2 generics) everything seems to be ok, but this vibration that seems like a sort of pitching persists.
This remains even if the vehicle is placed in N while travelling.
Has something like this ever happened to you?

Now if the car is in sitting on the street/driveway, and set to N, I would not expect any vibrations; however, there have been reported cases of vibrations on the W211 (several threads on that) in N after replacing CV axles for non-MB parts.
Many years ago, @1997, I had a subtle vibration on a Toyota Corolla (@30K miles), the dealer could not reproduce it and blamed it on the tires. Front tires were replaced, and the dealer insisted it was all good. It took me some talking back and forth (and several visits) until their master mechanic (the "boss") accepted to ride along with me (I was driving) to reproduce it in just 5 min. Summary: slightly bent front right CV axle. He could not understand what was wrong with it, but the new one never vibrated (finally went to the junkyard 15 years later)
