SL600 intercooler system ?
My 2007 SL600 IAT's were running 170-180 tonight even just cruising. Outside air temp was 72. I had a Johnson pump installed along with an additional two-pass heat exchanger a week ago.
Question is how to bleed the system, I searched the forums and all I found was info on the Supercharged cars.

What should our IATs be during normal cruising? I'll hook up my data logger up to my hooptie tomorrow and drive it to work, and see what I get. Unless it's raining, of course.

From what I have heard about 20 degrees over ambient. So mine should have been 90 not 180. Anything over 140 and boost is reduced and fuel is added.
Either my pump is not working or there is air in the system. I'll figure it out tomorrow evening when we can get the car on a lift.

Remove the engine cover and start the car. There is a little tire valve stem looking thing in the back near the intercoolers. Push it in and if it pees liquid, your pump is good. If not, your pump is bad.

RE: Intercooler Pump
I had a post sale inspection done by my local MB dealer last week, and the only thing they found wrong was a bad Intercooler pump (Charge Air Circulation Pump). They showed me the computer printout from the complete scan that logged my IAT temps as too high as both "Current and Stored". My shrader valves do put out fluid, but apparently my (original) pump is weak and is no longer getting the job done. The car runs great, no check engine light or drivability issues, but I have yet to drive it on anything like a warm day when I'm told it will slow down big time without a new pump.
Needless to say, my car is getting a new OEM "Charge Air Circulation Pump" installed this week when parts some in, and the cooling system/intercooler system will be flushed/refilled. Curious to see whether performance will change or improve.

07' SL65, 04' E55, 03' Evo8, 08' GSXR, DSM's...
What year is your car? Just wondering, cause if it's an 07'-08' SL65, like mine, that DIY thread above is nothing like what really needs to be done. It was totally different in how it mounted, it's access, etc. Good luck.
