PS fluid (Special?)




MB power steering fluid (PN 000-989-88-03) or an approved Dextron III ATF. The list of approved Dextron III ATF is as follows:

The MB bulletin of 2006 states quite clearly that not just any Dextron III ATF will do.

I always use MB fluids, even when I don't care to pay for them, Am I also waisting dollars?

These two are incompatible and will kill the PS pump.
Now, while Daimler-Chrysler were together they developed ATF+4, which I believe was used as PSF on both brands....so it's important to check by the chassis.
The older Euro cars, pre 1996, used Dexron III. Dex 6 or ATF+4 is the newer replacement....some might want Mobil 1 ATF but not much to be gained over the other 2 synth spec OEM ATFs.
Let me know if anyone has more specifics on year and model range.
