2003 C230 SC Kompressor
c230 wont start
I have a 2003 C230 sport coupe with the 1.8l kompressor engine. I was driving the car just fine, parked it and the next morning it would not start. The key unl;ocks the doors, turns the ignition, but when pushing to start the starter does not crank. Everything else (lights radio ac blower sunroof) work fine and no error shows up on screen. Its just like the key is not connecting to the starter. I checked EVERY fuse. I rolled the car and made sure was in park. Also tried in neutral. It just will not start. What can I do??!!!

Could be a bad starter. Could be a bad starter lockout switch. Could be a bad EIS. Could be a lot of things. If you're looking for advice, how about having a mechanic look at?

If I was looking to bring it to mechanic I would not be here!!! I do not think its the starter. Where is the lockout switch and what is the EIS. It is strange how it went from no problem to instant nothing.

I have seen trans fluid flowing through the wiring harness and filling up the transmission control module with fluid and shorting out the engine CAN system which will cause the vehicle to not crank. the root of the cause is the trans electrical connector leaking (common problem) If you look under the car and see your trans pan soaked with fluid chances are there is fluid in you trans control module. the only fix it to replace the module. Will probably have to bring it to a dealer. sorry. You need there software to code the new trans module. If thats the problem of course. Just an idea

Until you pop a working battery in there (or monitor the battery voltage when you attempt to start the engine), as far as I'm concerned, you have a bad battery!

check your cps sensor....
it doesnt throw any codes, and it will allow everything to work aside from starting....check that first before going into the big projects.

Check batt voltage with a multimeter and if that checks out wiggle the NSS some more.
