w166 ml350 alarm goes off for no reason
so so so tired of this....
2013 ml350
Here are a few weird symptoms
Key after 10 days or so it will start saying low battery, change the battery and 2 weeks later its low again....
then is the alarm it will go off in the middle of the night for no damn reason! and always at night! sometimes just once, sometime multiple times a night.
if you leave the door unlock, or lock by press lock button on the key chances of going off are higher, if you lock it by touch the door handle, chances of going off are lower.
after some research it seems to me there are quite some people has the same problems, but some because of the siren, some because of pse pump. but not sure if they have the key low battery problem as well. is it related? or what.
anyone else have the same problem in newer models?
anything can help.......so tired of this

Out Of Control!!
It sees to me that you have a hardware issue with the key as I get a year or two of battery life on a 17 year old key!!---Do you have a spare and if so what happens??

Sanity for free...
WHAT....:
Seek stability with these easy steps :
1- Float your main battery with CTEK charger
2- Reboot your car by disconnecting batteries for 5mn
3- Scan the OBD2 port to find wild modules such as KeylessG etc...
WHY...:
> Low voltage can cause the SAM modules to go sleepless and act erratically (ie. crazy). It may keep pinging your keyfob causing it to drain.
> Water intrusion can create a lot of random non-sense as well.

everything is possible but I don't think low keyfob battery is what's triggering your Benz alarm. In any case do replace the $5 tiny cell for peace of mind.

i have changed the fob battery, it was reading 2.6v on my meter.
Will having removed the fuse keep it quiet until I can explore further, seems ok at present.

Short-term relief...🎄....
Pulling the fuse is a valid quick fix BUT keep the car from draining its main battery with a float charger.
I guess your parking-lights are still going to flash.... in December flashing lights are in season - Pull the battery GND side strap for most complete sleep with an included reboot (make sure your door key works to unlock!).
