Has anyone with a 2020 model been able to connect to in car hotspot or internet with T-MOBILE now that MB has terminated ATT’s internet service ? Mercedes Me support has no information when (if?) an over the air update will be sent to allow for the GSM installed card in vehicles to operate over the TMobile network.
I'm not sure what to make of this supposed switch to T-Mobile. There's no official communication about it. Just some YouTube video from a guy I've never heard of. For one thing, I hope it's not true, because at least where I leave T-Mobile kinda sucks. AT&T is faster and has far better coverage outside of metropolitan areas. My previous Audi had T-Mobile for a while, but eventually they switched to AT&T and service was much better, and I'm also an AT&T customer so it would allow me to add the hotspot to my existing plan. I have a 2019 model, but for now I don't use the Wi-Fi hotspot in the car, so I don't know if it'd still work. There has definitely not been any OTA update related to switching providers, and as said I hope there isn't gonna be one. It's also not clear if this supposed switch is only affecting the hotspot service or all Mercedes me services. Supposedly 2021 models use T-Mobile and the Mercedes me connect website may just not be fully set up yet. They are in the midst of changing a lot of stuff based on the following response I got after inquiring about services disappearing from the web portal, but not yet showing up in the phone app.
I'm sorry to hear about the rift that you are experiencing regarding the Mercedes Me Connect Services. The US Version of the Mercedes Me Connect Store has just launched a few days ago, and so much of the Software is undergoing updates and changes. The services are currently (quite honestly) in a state of upheaval. You should notice within a short period of time, that the services are all in balance and present. There are quite a few changes happening in the US Mercedes Me Connect Market, which are not necessarily dictated by any US Time Zone.
I greatly appreciate your patience as well as your understanding in this matter; you seem to understand the bigger picture at play.
So I called AT&T the other day to try and resume my WiFi hotspot services and they said that they don’t handle Mercedes anymore. They then routed me to Mercedes customer service who informed me they no longer have a contract with AT&T and they are transitioning to T-Mobile. I still haven’t seen anything publicly announced but one would assume the Mercedes customer service people would be in the know. As to when the OTA update will happen, I know it hasn’t happened yet because I’ve been trying to get my car on T-Mobile.
No one knows anything - service department ar my dealer looked at me like I was crazy! You would think MB would have a fix immediately for something like this before it’s deemed a mass warranty / defect issue on all 2020 models (and others I presume !)
This is so ridiculous, no one at T-Mobile or Mercedes knows anything about in-car Wifi service. I was on a call with Mercedes support for 2 hours with calls bouncing back-and-forth between Mercedes and T-Mobile and no solution from either one of them. When I had the E300 with AT&T, getting the service was like 10 minutes, now with the E350 I end up with no wifi service at all! T-Mobile keeps asking me for some kind of a number that's supposed to be on the in-car wifi device but no one seems to know where that device is located in the car or how to get that number. I'm quite disappointed to say the least....
same here MY19 C63 went into Mercedes Me on my PC did not work very well on the phone. Selected top off and got a plan set, first I did have to add the car to the Tmobile site, I had an account here already for the wife's GLE 53

I had our MY2020 GLS450 in for service the other day and mentioned the Wifi issues. The response from dealership was to use the "connect" in the car. After 45 minutes of getting no help, they disconnected me. There is no guidance anywhere how to resolve this. Even the email we received sent me to someone overseas who didn't resolve a single thing. Has anyone figured it out?
What is the status of this, a few months since last post? I have a Verizon 5G phone that gets bad service in some parts of North Carolina. I was thinking to sign up for Wi-Fi hotspot. Is T-Mobile that bad? I have a 2020 S560.

I agree that the process is not exactly streamlined. That said, here are the steps I performed to get the services purchased for my car:
1. Navigate to https://www.daimlerna.hotspotdrive.com/
2. Set up account with all pertinent information.
3. Select service plan.
4. Activate services (turn on wifi, etc.) inside the vehicle.
I'm waiting for the service to be pushed to the car, but this is atleast the process to get the services paid for.
