Bricking the ECU with these instructions would require some determined effort. It would not happen from casual mistakes.
Options #2 & #3 are doing the same programming that we are doing (toggling some settings in firmware). Certainly worthwhile options for people who value their time.

 

I've just recently updated the Autel system I use and it makes it easy to disable auto start/stop.

Instruction for SMR-D file (DTS Monaco)

1. Start DTS Monaco and connect to ECU thru

SMR-D file. For example I will use MED40

1. Go to SECURITY ACCESS
2. If you in SECURITY ACCESS press Request Seed Variantcoding and you will have Request Seed

OxXXXXXXXX

1. Then you will need send this REQUEST to ME)) or someone who will calculate SEED KEY ANSWER for you.
2. Enter XX XX XX XX in Settings Seed Key and Press Send Key Variantcoding.

If ECU answer RESPONSE_PDU Ox67,0C it's mean

ECU UNLOCKED.

If ECU answer 7F XX XX it's mean SEED KEY wrong. Check if SEED KEY is right.

6. DONE! You can change variant coding now.

ECU will be UNLOCKED until ECU will RESET or

DISCONNECTED.

1. Start Vediamo and connect to ECU thru SMR-D file. For example I will use MED40
2. Go to SECURITY ACCESS or Press F12 or right click on ECU and choose MANUAL COMMAND

_Seed_Variantcoding and you will have

Request_Seed: XXXXXX XX

If use other way Input 27 OB - this is command for ECU to send you SEED KEY REQUEST 67 OB xX

1. Then you will need send this REQUEST to ME)) or someone who will calculate SEED KEY ANSWER for you.
2. Press Send_Key_Variantcoding and enter XX XX XX XX. Or if use other way enter 27 OC xx xx XXXX .

If ECU answer Send

_Key_Variantcoding:

eALL_POSITIVE or if use other way 67 OC it's mean ECU UNLOCKED.

If ECU answer 7F XX XX it's mean SEED KEY wrong. Check if SEED KEY is right.

6. DONE! You can change variant coding now.

ECU will be UNLOCKED until ECU will RESET or

DISCONNECTED.

1. Type (27 OB) and click send - this is the command for ECU to send you the (SEED KEY) the answer will be (67 0B xx xx xx xx xx), сору the numbers after (67 OB) and put it in your seed key generator and generate the correct key to unlock.
2. When you have the calculated SEED KEY response, you will need to enter (27 OC xx xx xx xx).

(xx xx xx xx) is the calculated seed.

If the ECU responds with (67 OC), it means that the ECU is UNLOCKED.

If the ECU responds (7F XX XX), it means that the

SEED KEY is wrong. Make sure the SEED KEY is right.

5. DONE! You can change the encoding of variants now. The ECU will be UNLOCKED until it is RESTARTED or DISCONNECTED.

You need to have a seed key generator to unlock.

Are you sure? Is med177 different from others.

level 27 09 request seed > 27 0A send key

level11 27 0B request seed > 27 0C send key

Usually have to unlock level before level11.
