Strange TPMS Issue

New to the forum, thanks for having me.
I currently own a 2008 w204 C300 Sport

I have checked and adjusted all air pressures.

The Yellow tpms light flashing during startups, turns solid after a minute or so. The dash information displays 0 messages, however once a week the RED TPMS disabled warning will come up. I will RESET values, however Yellow TPMS indicator stays on. I've tried this reset procedure many times.

I have a Snap-On Apollo D8 Scan Tool & Snap-On TPMS4

The Apollo was showing me a code D165 " Communication with tire pressure sensor 4 has a malfunction" also the data is showing the Right Rear sensor was not active, -58 deg temp, 0 pressure readings.
-I went ahead and changed out the Right Rear sensor to an aftermarket oe replacement sensor. Cleared the TPMS codes with scanner, drove 10 miles, TPMS Light back on. Still no reading from RIGHT REAR. Then checked TPMS4 tool, ALL sensors are picked up by TPMS4.
-I then swapped RIGHT REAR & RIGHT FRONT wheels, cleared code, drove 10 miles... Light back on, & still NO READING from RIGHT REAR.

I feel it might be a transmitter issue, however having it only affect one wheel, I feel is strange.

I've searched for similar problems online, if this post is redundant, I will delete it if necessary.

Thanks in advance.

When was the vehicle battery last replaced? Your car may also have an auxiliary battery or capacitor, when was it last replaced?

The battery was replaced 2 weeks ago, which did not affect this TPMS issue. I'm unaware of an auxiliary battery.

Right Rear wrong...

Your moving tires around shows the problem specifically stays at Right Rear location.
So it's not a sender issue, more like a TPMS MODULE ANTENNA CONNECTION issue.

Have you OBD scanned all car modules ?
Whart sort of faults did you get?
Get in the TPMS Module live data for clues

Is this a known defect shared by your type of chassis ?

Are there any TPMS related bulletins available... run a TSB Search.

I would try to locate the module and have a look at the wiring connector to spot any corrosion damages. Having a schematic handy will provide you with components interface and pinout data.

I assume the TPMS valve sensors are recently new? They have molded in non replaceable batteries whose life expectancy is less than 10 years.

XENTRY will give the precise situation. Do you have XENTRY?

I do not. The C300 will be going to the dealership this week for 2 recall issues, I've asked for them to scan it as well. I will report back with the results.

You can use Xentry to figure it out. (see screenshot below) The process I use is to go to test tab and test one wheel at a time. To activate a sensor, you need to let at least 5PSI out of the tire. This will turn the sensor on.
If the sensor is good, it will return the unique hex code for that sensor. Write down the code for each wheel. If the sensor is bad, you will get all zeros.

After you've learned the codes for all 4 wheels, you can enter them manually. (see the screenshot below)

You can also test a sensor before installing it. The way I do it is to place the new sensor into a garden sprayer tank and pump up the pressure. The change in pressure will activate the sensor. Then place the tank next to a wheel and run the Xentry test on that wheel. If the sensor is good Xentry will respond with the hex code for that sensor.

If you are tech-savvy you can install Xentry on a Windows 10 laptop for free
&

You will need to buy a J2534 dongle. They can be had for under $25 here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32973687689.html
