Part number or details for front hood struts 2003 W209

Hi,

So this seems like an easy enough DIY.

Do I need to buy the hood struts from the Mercedes dealer or is there some generic part description? Model number or size specifics?

(I live in Eastern Europe so things like Amazon are not an option.)

Thank you

Halloween witches special

a lot of ppl with limited access to parts use a kitchen broom-stick or a vise grip on the old strut shaft.
Very effective standard solution!

I went to the authorized Mercedes Dealership. They did not have the hood struts in stock. Didn't matter, their price was $75 Each.

As long as I was there, I asked how much a Crankshaft Position Sensor was since I keep reading about them. That was $224.

All including tax.

The parts man gave me the name of an auto parts place here in town. Any model number or specs I need to ask for on the hood struts?

Thank you

Go to Amazon and put your car information in. Stabilis is the OE brand.

Here is a typical online commerce transaction. My wife ordered some costume for my son. They do not take credit cards, you need to pay cash at the door.

The delivery driver comes while we are not home. He calls my wife. Instead of waiting for the delivery another day, my wife and I drive to where the delivery driver is. That takes several calls since he is moving. Once found we jump out of the car, go to his van, and pay him cash for the package.

It helps to display your location in your info with your postings. Also the model and year of your car.

Ok, I went to the independent auto parts supplier today, gave him the part numbers for left and right from above and he said $28. I said each, and he said for both. Great! Not in stock, but they could have them this afternoon. I couldn't believe it. So I said order them.

I go back at 1 PM and they have two hood struts for me. Only problem is they are both left side. So I will get the right side tomorrow. All part of life's rich pageant!

All done.

Thanks for the part numbers here, definitely saved some time, even with the independent parts dealers.

I wanted to mention that Mercedes are good for having the part #'s stamped on every part. I think every part I have replaced has the MB part # on them somewhere, except things like bolts. I should have mentioned this earlier.
