Good luck with sale. I would just let it roll through the auction and forget about it. I am sure you will do better than that.
It is still a awesome looking ride.

Would like to see additional interior pics if you have a chance to post.

Just a thought but I think stripping it back to a more stock look would help with the sale, just removing the spoilers on the rear window and trunk lid.

Realistic price lol...these cars go for around that price here in florida in auctions...actually i went to manheim and saw a silver one bone stock with more miles sold for 39,500.00 with stock amg 18" and had a couple of dings on it...please what is being asked for the car is more then fair, with all the additives which we all know we wont get money back for but it still can add to the residual value if its all legitimate parts and have been installed by RennTech of WPB...for 36k you might be able to get an e63 2007-08 but not a v12 in this condition...
HENCE
Manheim prices for '06 S65?

Here are the latest number from Manheim and not one with those miles went anywhere near what you guys are talking about. Karlson is dead on his price. The one closest to yours went with 67k and sold for $31500! Thats a $34000 to $36000 car all day. No where near $40 with those miles.

It looks like a very nice car but used high miled AMGs ar worth nothing. People are too scared of them.

People who can afford that car will be buying a lower mileage one from a dealer and getting a real warranty unless you price it near wholesale. I can only imagine how much money the next owner is going to spend at the Mercedes dealer over the next year or two on this car. 2000 to 2006 models were the most trouble prone Mercedes cars made and a twin turbo V12 could be money pit. I've got a twin turbodiesel V10 VW Touareg and you should check out the Club Touareg forums where one guy was told by the dealer that it's going to cost $19K to replace the engine because a turbo blew and grenaded the whole engine. I'd love an S65 but would only pay wholesale for it if there was no warranty.

well this is where your in luck the lucky new proud owner will be getting the warranty transferred under their name...it has a 3yr/36000 mile warranty through mercury insurance group...and from personal experience they do not warranty v12 for nothing...they slipped up and gave my father a policy cause of me, lol, the warranty covers virtually everything but the wear and tear items...so let me know and honestly this car is way too clean to be compared to the ones i have seen on the auction block and also I have gone to local MB dealers for these cars and let me tell you for what im asking it seems fair....they had a s55smg for 39k with 45k miles<---sheer insanity for that price....anywho let me know there is a lot more info on the car if interested...thanks

It's a really nice looking car, and I agree with you that it should be worth what you are asking......that may not be the reality right now though. Comparing to MB dealer sales is apples to oranges IMHO....their cars, esp CPO/starmarked ones, are significantly marked up over comparable private party sales. Dealer asking 39k for one sounds a lot to me like the private market is probably going in the low 30's right now. If you want close to your (or your father's) asking, then patience is your friend. The right buyer may be out there, but most folks looking at private sales vice dealers are looking for a good deal, which this would not be if priced according to dealer values. I know I wouldn't pay 40+ for a car that I knew I could find through MB @ similar pricing along with warranty, starmarked, and without the hassles of private party sales. Just food for thought, GLWS!

They are far from a money pit....
After owning the most 65's on this board over the last few years...I have spent a total of $450 in repairs...yeah I did brakes and etc...MAINTANANCE items dont apply... but the rotors on these cars are good for 2 sets of pads or atleast 70k miles....that is chump change considering the stopping power and prestige of this car....
The Transmission if it fails cost $1800 to rebuild...that is less then a tranny for a Toyota Tundra....
ABC components? yeah they go bad...
I have currently a 90k mile CL65 2005 with ALL THE ORIGINAL ABC parts...AND IT is perfect....
I personally buy 65's with excess of 60k miles...and I dont feel comfortable buying one with lower miles even though I can afford a new one with 5 miles easy............ Knock on wood and on my 15th 65...I havent spent crap in repairs....the more you drive them the longer they go before an issue.....
Point is that for what you get and the quality of these cars....the prices on them right now ARE STUPID cheap..
And for the babies who complain about warranties and repairs...... try buying a M5 or A8 or even a G37 sedan as well....these cars actually cost more to fix then a S65 ...and those cars are a joke in performance to the S65
in reality
We have a car here folks that can outrun a Gallardo and a F430...and can easily see 250k miles without a HITCH......and for under $50k...WHAT?
LOL

Since you preface nearly every one of your posts on this site with the statement that you have owned the most AMG's of anyone, I will pose this question to you.....have you ever driven one of those cars out to 250k miles? That is great if you have (and I think many of us would love to hear the details as you would likely be the first), but I find it hard to imagine that you did if you have bought and sold 15 of them already.
