planned to head out this morning but when i set out to go we had two hours of delays because of the rain, accidents and traffic. i had to postpone the appointment... apparently we're having a mini monsoon season here and nothing but rain for the next three days. aiming for thursday with saturday as the rain date. if all goes as planned, the car checks out and they accept my offer then i am willing to purchase it. (professional/experienced opinions welcomed on making a realistic offer price.)

indeed... not very common either. most people on the road have some sort of suv or cute ute or crossover etc. not too many high performance wagons out there hauling family.
my major concerns are resale value, will there be demand for a wagon when i go to sell or am i going to sit on this for ages... along with oil consumption or any costly maintenance item out of warranty (despite having a friend at MB who is a master tech "star certified") and of course winter driving (although we do have an SUV i would not want to leave this car in the garage for six months out of the year).

I've never purchased a vehicle for its resale value. I bought them because I liked it and wanted it. I do buy used, though, just because I can't stand the initial depreciation. The last new car I bought for myself was a 2000 ML320. Nice car but lost half its value in the first two years.
I would think a vehicle that rare would be worth owning and how fun would it be to trounce on a Mustang or a ricer with a stock wagon?
