The majority of E55 Wagons that have surfaced for sale in the past few months have either had high mileage or accident history-- and now the asking price of the E55 Wagon at Enthusiast Auto seems justified. Most of the high mileage cars that have sold probably needed or will need thousands of dollars in repairs and preventative maintenance anyway. Sadly, something tells me the buyers of those high mileage cars weren't budgeting for those repairs but wanted to get in cheap and will suffocate them to a slow death. These cars will only get more rare.
Hence why I rather keep mine...Originally Posted by Großaspach

Thank you Ali.
It's now time to move on from the 211 to the 212. I was never gonna find the high quality S211 I wanted, timetoy and alihou007 pulled out of the market and everyone else was standing pat, on prices that were stabilizing. Market has shifted in the past half a year.
We took delivery today of the best of the last of the RWD AMG Wagons, a 2013 E63 S212, with the P30 AMG Performance Package.
Wow. It had me at Palladium Silver. I saw it from behind first. An elegant devil dressed in a Savile Row suit.
How is this even legal?

Love that color as well! Well done Christopher....I will selfishly take credit for you buying it since I decided not to sell you mine! Originally Posted by cctoronto

I just noticed the E55 Wagon at Enthusiast Auto was changed to "Sale Pending" today (see here). Given there were just nine E55 Wagons built in Alabaster White + Black for the USA, that very well may have been the lowest mileage example remaining. On that basis the buyer should sleep well tonight knowing they will never see a lower mileage Alabaster White + Black E55 Wagon surface for sale which is all the more reason the asking price probably was justified.
Nice S212, cctoronto!

Looking back in the thread, there have been several low to average mileage E55 Wagons that have sold in the $30k-39k range in the past year and that is a good sign. There have also been a number of cars that recently sold in short order such as the Pewter Metallic + Brown E63 Wagon at GodSpeed Motors. The less than ideal color combination seems to have made no difference which is another a good indicator of S211 AMG values.Originally Posted by cctoronto

is there a separate thread for w212's? now that the '12s are all coming off lease, there should be a constant offering of 212 wagons versus the paltry selection in '14.

This was my observation as well. I only entered the market at the end of december and I thought at the time that I came in a month late. These astute S211 AMG owners were about ten days ahead of me. Had I gotten to one of them two to three weeks earlier, my story would possibly be different. Nonetheless, I am happy with the developments. I will add this:
I sure was hard pressed to let go of the 211. Damn, I loved my E320 CDI, every single time I got out of that car, I was pleased as punch with it, all the time, more so as time went on. I was thinking that having AMG S211 would have been heaven, I was torn between both faces even, so much going for each version. I sure hope I feel that way about this one. I would argue the interior on the 211 is better, however, all the high-techery of the 212 begins to cloud the judgement.
My W211, what a great car. Never let me down. I'm never gonna forget that car.
I'm gonna nickname it 'The And Car', because it does absolutely everything.
PS. We discussed that Godspeed car for about five minutes.

Pewter Metallic+Black Leather with Burl Walnut Veneer Wood isn't ideal but with 17,152 miles its probably one of the best E55 Wagons to surface in the past 12 months. And because its being sold through a Mercedes-Benz dealer I suspect this car will sell very quickly.

That VIN runs as a *sedan*, not a Wagon.

Not sure of the source of your incorrect data but WDBUH76J36A932455 is an E55 Wagon. UH76 is the identifier in the VIN for the Wagon and UF76 is used for the Sedan. You don't need to run the VIN through any database to determine if it is a Wagon.Originally Posted by VCA_AMG

Right on. I googled the vin, which on every other wagon I've ever researched delivers results for wagons. This one comes up as a sedan. Since it has the wagon code in the VIN, obviously the search was incorrect. Great low mileage on that one...Originally Posted by Großaspach

Lucky Day for me! And what a fluke; I found out about this car from my husband who called me at work at 10 am Thursday the 19th saying this car showed up with no pictures only 4 miles away from where I work! I called Feldmann's to confirm, cancelled my lunch appointment and went right over. This car is essentially Brand New! And what a gorgeous color Pewter is! So because I had to go back to work, I put a deposit on it and....I am the lucky owner.
There was no negotiating on price; especially after I have been watching the Enthusiast Auto site and others.
Now; anyone want to buy a 1989 BMW convertible?

I'd say so! Wow! I missed my reasonable shot at an AMG S211 by a month.
Time will tell, but it seems that a handful of us here just witnessed a very clear market shift, right up close and it happened very quickly too!
Interesting!
I am glad I jumped out when I did or i would have missed my jump into a S212 pre-facelift, in itself an equally unique AMG wagon (IMHO), the last of the old school classic MB look with the star on the hood. I'm not sold on the timelessness of the face-lifted model.

Congratulations. What are your plans for the car? With E55/63 Wagon values skyrocketing and given that you own one of lowest mileage cars remaining, I assume you won't be racking up miles and modifying it. Its probably best kept as a concours museum piece.Originally Posted by Germancargirl

aha! a fellow Minnesotan! Welcome to the AMG club. I'm a Sears Imports guy myself, but they're not the ones with the e55 wagon. Congrats on the purchase, I'd love to see some photos!Originally Posted by Germancargirl

I will post more pictures (some I posted in an album here) as soon as I a) figure out how and b) actually am driving the car. The weather hasn't be conducive to tearing around and so I think it will be a week or two.
anyone know if the cold start whine is normal? I will have the dealer check it but it is kind of unnerving. It does go away with warm up...and not there for warm starts. But it sounds like screeching bearings or something....
I am also going to bring it to Cars and Coffee for sure.

Feldmann Imports listed another low mileage Pewter Metallic Wagon today. Pewter Metallic+Brown Leather with Burl Walnut Veneer Wood are the absolute worst colors and trims that were offered. It will be interesting to see if this car sells quickly. Also the car originally came with two keys and I'm perplexed the dealer would go to the length to add an image to their ad that states the missing key "...may be purchased through our parts department."

Yeah, with that color combo and that asking price? Fat chance. Drop it down to 36k and maybe you'll get my attention.

The market for low mileage wagons (sub 50k) has and will always be strong, speaking from personal experience. The higher mileage ones, as the one above, will struggle. That Pewter one at Feldman will sit, because of the colors
