FS: w211 589 14 22 00 Comand Update Disk
Hey guys,
I just installed this on my car (04 e320) and I can attest that my ipod (through aux) sounds much better and now I can play mp3 cds and (lucky me
) mp3 dvds through my cd player. I know that I had a hell of a time finding this CD, so I want to give other enthusiasts the chance to do this upgrade as well. Lookin to get $10 picked up or $13 shipped.
I'll even throw in the original MB parts bag!

Yeah, the easiest way to check if you already have this update is by the background on the service screen (SERV button). If there is an e-class only, you have the older software, if there is an e-class and a cls then you already have the update.

Not 100% sure, but I think CL and S came with different COMAND systems than the 211 and 219. With that in mind I doubt it would update your system, and I don't think its worth the risk of bricking your head unit trying it out...haha. And completely OT, we gotta KBBQ it up soon dude, its been a while.

I have a 07 w211 and would be interested in the disc as well. Bimmerfest guys shared European map discs for European Delivery back when BMWs had CD/DVD maps, with just nominal shipping cost to whoever is using it. Perhaps we can do something similar with this one.

Ditto, mark me down next after whomever is currently in the queue. I'm content with paying the original 13 bucks shipped from the last person that had it. I went to the dealer trying to get the same thing and they said there was no such thing. I got into a bit of a debate with them and asked 1) if they really expected me to believe the firmware in the Command of my 04 was the same as the firmware they put into a 2009 Command and 2) I even pointed out how my old Command showed stuff that the updated Command did not. Oh well, dealers and their "master techs!" ha.

there are actually 2 of these update disks......
mercedes navigation sw update 211 598 14 22 00 upgrades the command unit and
Mercedes Navigation Service DVD 211 589 15 22 00 upgrades the trunk dvd unit...
its been a long time since ive done it and sorry to say cant remeber what these disks did.
if your in the nyc area......id be happy to help anyone out...FREE....please bare in mind...you upgrade at your own risk..i assume NO responsibility
