Welcome New Members
I purchased my 2014 GLK250 new from the Dealership in Coral Gables, FL. with the intention of keeping it for many years/miles and for infrequently towing a trailer with a total weight loaded of aprox 3,300 lbs.
There have been 6 Bluetec failures to date and the odometer currently reads 28,300 miles. The first occurred 9 months after purchase. What a surprise to see the Message in the instrument cluster "6 starts remaining / add blue"! Like most, I was never appraised by the new car sales person while considering buying the car that the GLK250 was intentionally designed to shut down at the end of the "remaining starts" count down because of "add Blue".. And the joke of the system is that the count down message is rarely, if at all, about the tank being low on DEF. The Service Adviser first explained that the Add Blue Message was a highly unusual occurrence and was probably due to the DEF tank being low when the new car arrived at the Dealership and was overlooked while the car was being prepped. That is what showed up on the Service Adviser's (no charge) invoice ;even though another Adviser thought it was a software issue.
Blinded by the joy of owning a new Mercedes diesel car, I continued driving without another thought of the Bluetec Message until it popped up again 2 times 2018 and 3 times this year. The Bluetec failures were due to sensors, heater, software, etc., not because the car was low on DEF.
The car is currently in service at the Dealership. The service manager stated they were "in the dark" as to why the Bluetec failed. Test showed the problem was a NOx sensor but the sensor was replaced 2 weeks ago and also last year. To identify the problem, the service adviser requested permission to drive the car for 100+ miles to see if they could "regenerate" the fault problem. And that is where things stand...no word yet as to results. Even if they fix whatever is causing the fault message. I realize it would be unwise and costly to keep the car on a wing and a prayer that it's Bluetec system has been cured.so I will be asking the Dealer to take it back on fair trade taking into consideration the aggravation and financial loss it has caused. The reality is that the Dealership is for profit not charity.
So that is my story! Any thoughts, recommendations, similar experiences?

So, I shopped CLS550s for about a year and a half, test driving, researching, and number-crunching. Patiently, I stumbled across a black 2008 CLS63-AMG with 46k on the clock, nestled well within my price range. While I love the newer-style front end, I am not a fan of the rear, so I was comfortable with the trade-off. Of course, I love the car. It's been nearly a year, and she still makes me smile every time I get in and hit that Start button. It's the date-nite and road trip car, so the miles will stay low.
Glad to be part of the MBWorld.

Ultimate goal is to jump to an S55 or 600L in either 220 or 221 format.
So let the crying begin! By the way I parted with 1,500 or Europe’s finest beer vouchers for this ownership experience. I must be mad!!
260 km drive home after deal was done. No lights or errors. Air suspension soaked up everything. Car is so quiet the squeaks for the seat as the weight shifts is annoying me.
Here’s the pic from the day I picked it up. I've been making a list and checking it twice, I've also addressed the interior as that was really annoying me. I will start a thread in the W220 section on the car and whats being done to it so everyone can have a laugh at my expense.

Please feel free to introduce yourself in this section.
Enjoy!!
Hello, just joined the MBWorld arena, by the way my name is Michael!
Been driving my E250D for a few years, bought it in KC back in 2015, Went to Germany for a few years and just returned. My question is, can I (myself) reset my NAV system back to the original factory setting (North America)? Surely there’s a hidden button that says push me. My car still thinks it’s in Europe, and with the European NAV settings the car doesn’t have the SAT radio option. Hopefully someone can walk me through the procedures. I’ve spoken with the MBrase folks and was told I should take the car to the dealer, of course there probably programmed to say that. The vehicle was still under warranty when i went to Germany and the European NAV was updated and installed free of charge.
My troubleshooting skills enlightened me that you can’t load or add North American maps if you’re NAV system is programmed for Europe.
Any answers or help would be great.
Of course I still have the dealer option. 😟
Hello from Winnipeg! I am waiting, and waiting, for my 2020 GLE450. After having 3 Audi Q5s it's time for a change and the MBUX system, and that dash, just made me fall for the GLE450! I gave my deposit March 15th, and NOW there's a delay, what's up!
