Hello everybody!!

Like my title says, I was a Mercedes-Benz salesman for over 2 years. I am very enthusiastic about the brand and have always loved Mercedes-Benz. I loved every minute of the job when it came to the cars.. got to drive sooo many amazing cars that really made me fall in love with everything Mercedes-Benz. However, sales is sales, and Automotive sales is a tough gig.. Anyone who has done it knows what I mean.

Anyway, I have moved on to a different job and actually have time for hobbies and other interests so I figured I would create a username here and see what there is to offer. I have been on the site in the past a lot.. Used it to find out a of info that you didn't get to learn at the dealership haha.

Joined here mostly to find out info myself and to see all the great cars but also I do have a fairly good amount of knowledge of the cars and the brand itself so if anyone ever has any questions feel free to ask!

Last but not least I am the proud owner of a beautuful 2011 E350 4matic, Black with a Natural Beige interior and black ash wood.. (My favorite combo). Also was able to get my Fiance into a 2011 C300 a couple of years ago

hi Jerry, thanks for the compliments. sorry it has taken a while to respond, i have been very busy and forget to check. if I remember correctly, there is no auxiliary port in your car either correct? if there is, there are some pretty good bluetooth adapters that may work. Anyway, I don't think there is an easy way to get BT audio without doing a little installation.. i found a nice article that shows one of the ways you can make it work..but again, have to do some installation..not sure how you would feel about that in a CL600!

Let's see.. There are a lot of ways to make sure you are getting a good deal when buying a Benz. First off, check truecar.com this does give a good idea what the cars are selling for. Print a truecar certificate and bring it with you, but do not tell the dealer about it... when somebody brought one of these in we were more than happy to sell the car at that price because really, there is more room. Use this only if they are not already lower than the price from Truecar. Also, make sure that the price on what you configured on Truecar is similar to the one you are looking at.

Do your best to find out what the current dealer cash incentives are. This is not supposed to be public knowledge because they technically do not have to discount the car that much. Some months it is higher than others.. E classes get $5,000 dealer cash pretty frequently, so really you should get much more off than that. SL550s and AMGs sometimes get up to 10k dealer cash so they are more likely to give biggg discounts on those.

Another good method is using your internet resources to find a good price, even if you know the dealer you want to buy from, it doesn’t hurt to get a price from somewhere else and get the dealers to try to undersell each other (sucks as a salesperson but totally understandable.) Most dealerships will match or beat any written offer you can show them.

Lastly, this is about used cars.. this is true for the dealership I worked at but definitely not all.. but just something to pay attention to and look for.... When a car just came in, the last digit on the price would be a 1 for us... if it had been there for a long time, it would be a 9, they also used other numbers in between, the higher the number, the less money we were making, if any. A lot of the time 9 meant it was a loser.. Now depending on your salesperson, he may not want to show you a car like that because he knows there is not a lot of money for him to make.. hopefully this is not the salesman you get. Basically, this meant that as a salesman, I could look at the pricing online or on my price sheet and when a car had a low number, I would feel OK telling the customer that we may be able to take a little off, if it was a high number, I would tell them it was not likely because the car had been there a while and the price was already discounted a few times. Being a customer, knowing this info could be great, especially if it is one of those cars that just came in.. On that note, most dealers post the Carfax online.. look at that to see when the dealer bought the car and how long they have had it on the lot.

Hope this helps! Sorry if this was a lot.
