I've been looking for w208 clk430 for a while now, and searching this forum has helped me get a fair amount of info, which is why I decided to register.

Tell me, Why is it that when your speeding on the highways in France, that the overhead sign displays your Liscence plate number and 50 meters later it takes a picture?
Why not just take a picture and not display your liscence plate/tell you to slow down.

This is an interesting point, however I think you might be mistaken.
The overhead (or roadside) signs don't display your license plate numbers (at least not the ones I've seen), they display your speed.
It's a "safety" (I don't think speed is always unsafe, but that's another debate) measure implemented by the government, to warn automobilists that they're speeding and encourage them to slow down because radars are ahead

It displayed my plate followed by a long word and a short word and then an exclamation point on three occasions. I wish I remembered what the words were. I was high on weed and was paranoid that the got me on lock because they had my plays numbers.
What part of France are you from? Nice is very beautiful. Paris is overrated.

Oh well, I'm gonna do some research to try and find out what this is.
i'm from the east, Besançon. Paris is indeed overrated, I lived there for a full year and hated every second.
I love the south in general, planning to move there in a year. Nice Cannes Antibes and Marseille are quite beautiful cities
