Coming over from BMW
Hey guys!
I have owned a few BMWs, but I want to get involved with an older Mercedes. I have a couple questions, and I hope you guys can helps.
I have a local 1990 300E for sale that I love. 73k miles and it looks to be in great shape. What should I look out for with these cars? What is a good price for a very nice condition 300E with 73k miles?
I have never owned a Mercedes before so I have no clue what I am dealing with here.

Welcome to MBWorld.
Nothing against the other posters above me, but sometimes I wonder if the other posters take time to actually read your post as you haven't actually bought her yet and looking for advice on doing so lol.
Really with a quarter century old vehicle, any number of things you'll have to be careful with, but to the seller, I'd ask if she was garage kept which could help indicate any potential rust issue. Check fluids and plugs. The good thing with 1990 is it was before the merger between Daimler and Chrysler which introduced a host of quality issues from Chrysler. Your biggest challenge will be sourcing OEM parts if you ever need to replace, but that's also part of the fun with classic vehicle projects.
Were you looking at this as your primary daily or just a fun weekend/project vehicle?

And as for modding, many update the amber corners to clears which cleans up the front profile look. Wheels and suspension upgrades as well.
Take a look at the w124 subforum for other ideas:

And let us know if you want to upgrade some of her lights to whiter and brighter lighting instead of the dingy yellowish lights prevalent with older vehicles. Makes for a decent facelift.
