limp mode every time I start to drive ! Really upset
Recently baught a 2008 w204 cdi 220 sport 215,000miles with a remap already on it ...
all seemed fine an hour into driving home I got the engine light with esp , I stopped to see if I could see anything but could see nothing so I continued as the lights went away - since I have had the engine light on , and when I set off from a stop in any fashion it makes the diesel knock sound esp flickers then I'm there again in limp mode
so far iv had it plugged in on a snap on diagnostic and it said
3 faulty glow plugs - all replaced - no change
amf sensor / told this is the maf- replaced lights went off for 5 min then the car stuttered setting off esp light engine light bk on again
the other thing it showed was high fuel pressure which iv not had looked into yet
iv had the injector seal repaced as injector 1 was chuffing / due to the high pressure ? Any help on this I greatly appretiate

Sounds like fuel pressure issues to me, but try going back to the stock tune first and see if it clears up.
You could have a weak fuel pump, at that high mileage and being tuned for a long time, it's probably quite worn out.

hi thank you for taking the time to read my problem , I do plan on a unmap as soon as I can , I had a jaguar 2.0 d once that did this when I put a dtuk tuning box on it at high setting ,so it seems to be very similar so hope it's that but something tells me it could be something else , I get a feeling this will just occurs at higher revs when unmapped .
fuel pump could be a good idea but wouldt this show up on the scan tool ?

Is this the pump in the engine bay or tank ? Speaking to somebody today they tell me I should try a new fuel pressure sensor - stuck at this moment with shops not being open over the Christmas period thanks again for your response
