Hello from Croatia

Hi all,

Just registered here to read a bit about my next plan - W212 E500.

I am from Croatia so not sure about how many European members are on this forum, but shouldn't matter much anyway.

Wishing you all a nice day!

Welcome! Please post a photo of the E500.

There are a good number of European members on this site.

I have visited your beautiful country and enjoyed it very much! The people, food, landscape and history are all wonderful.

Thanks a lot!

I will post a photo, but first I have to buy one

Currently still driving my old 2006 A4 sedan which has became too small for my family so after a long thinking about which wagon should I get, decision dropped on W212 E500 facelift.
My budget allows me to go for W213 but after thinking a bit, heart decided it's better to have V8 petrol than 4 cylinder diesel - definitely not a brain decision, but a heart one
Low mileage high spec W212 V8 is in the similar price range as 4 pot diesel low spec W213 and I believe Merc needs to be very well equipped in order to feel like a Merc.

Also was considering A6 C7 but I had enough of Audi (glorified VW) and generally enough of diesels, we don't drive too much and diesel is just not viable for us, plus I am a bit of a petrolhead so will go back to owning a petrol car.

Came here mainly because I want to see if the 10 year old car Airmatic is really that big of an issue and should i be too scared about owning a car with it.

Is a Macan readily available in your area? Great driving machine, and practical/utilitarian.

Hah! Very interesting advice, as I was really looking into Macan 1st generation with either 3.0 V6 or 3.6 biturbo - really love the design and I imagine it's a great driving machine, HOWEVER, from what i have seen so far, it seems not to have a lot of space in the back seats and the trunk as well - compared to W212 wagon at least.

One of the most important things for me is boot space and the back seat space and there are not a lot of cars that can beat W212 (or S212 specifically)...

You just have to be ready for some minor repairs afterwards, best if you buy it brand new other that used. Thanks 😊
Thanks a lot!

I am very well aware that some repairs are normal on a 10 year old car with so much technology, however, I am more than used to it after all I have been through with my Audi, and if you say the repairs will be only "minor", I would be more than happy if that was the case
