Destroyed my front Spoiler lip piece this past weekend with a curb on my 2015 S550
Went over a parking curb that was a shade too tall and when I backed up it tore the lower Spoiler lip halfway off. I had to take it off the rest of the way, actually does not look too bad without it. Anyone had one of these done and how much was it? I suspect around 6 or 800 bucks or so? I think I need the piece it hooks up to also. Bad design. It gets caught underneath when you go over the curb a little bit and then will tear as you back up. Had I thought of it I would have hit the car lift button on the dash and raised the car up some and I probably would have got off the parking curb ok. Oh well. Also had I had the surround view camera all this more than likely would have not happened but alas my car does not have the surround view option, my next S550 will definitely have it. I plan on getting rid of this 2015 in around a year or so and trading it in for a 2017 lease turn in with all the options I want. This 15 had pretty much everything else I wanted including the Distronic. I hope to repair this is under grand? Tempting to order the part myself and do it myself. I've seen the part online for $193.00. At least I don't have to do any paint work with it as it's just black plastic with a chrome lower strip.

No, I do not have the sport package, just the base package. Just curious roughly what I'm looking at the dealer to replace this front spoiler? I'd guess around 7 or 800 bucks, regular body shop maybe 4 to 500? Maybe my best bet is a regular body shop? It may happen again, thats why I'm trying to keep the price down. I'm tempted to just leave it as it is and do it when I get rid of the car perhaps. It really does not look too bad without the spoiler and I've got more frontal clearance for parking curbs. It sure was low with the spoiler.

Do it yourself. That way when it happens again, (hopefully never) , you can fix it again even better. America has the worst road and highway curbing rules of all places in the world. I always look ahead to see if other cars have left scars on the road to see if I'm going to clear or not. And I don't care if people start blowing their horns at me for being slow and cautious...They can shove it up their ****.

Wow, those are too low. I think I'll just leave it alone as I'll probably only take it out again. I'll do it right before I sell the car in a year or so. My plan is to sell this '15 S550 private party and get a 2017 in a year and half.
