Title Fight - Kleemann v. HPS

Sunday...Sunday...Sunday

In this corner, a Kleemann E50K w211 and in the other corner a HPS 55K of their choice!

This Sunday at the Irvine Spectrum, we have arranged for Brandon Grantham of Kleemann USA to bring his w211 E50K, complete with a new body kit, steering wheel, interior, brakes, and of course 500+ HP. Attending will also be a C24K, E32K, CLK43K, and possibly other Kleemann cars. This is your chance to see first hand just what Kleemann has to offer!

HPS, if you're willing, come down to the Irvine Spectrum (it's about 15 minutes from your shop), and show off what you have to offer. This would be a great chance to see your new product rival the existing Kleemann.

Many of the Evosport staff will be onhand to answer any tuning questions you may have. The meet will start at 11 am, and is guaranteed to pack more horsepower than any other Mercedes meet ever! If you have any questions, feel free to post, or email me at ben@evosport.com.

See everyone there!

I've sent HPS an email, and linked them to every similiar post on MBWorld. They're only 5 minutes from us, so I don't see why they wouldn't show up. I am still waiting on a confirmation.

Still no word from HPS, but we are hopefull. There are going to be plenty of nice cars to see, so either way it should be a good meet. The w211 E50K will show the first Kleemann E Class body kit in the US, as well their big brake kits, interior, and wheels.

Just to clarify, as there have been many people asking, racing is not allowed inside the parking lot (for obvious reasons). In fact, this event was organized in order to get both Kleemann and HPS to bring their cars and demonstrate and/or explain their products. Where everyone is getting drag racing and other ideas is beyond me. From what it seems, HPS may not show. That's fine, at this point with all of the negative feedback, I've considered cancelling the whole event.

If you want to come down and see a bunch of Kleemann cars, or go for a ride in the new E50K, please by all means come! If you want to come and meet other MBWorld members, please by all means come! We're here for you. All I ask is that you bring a good attitude, and try to have a good time. If HPS, Renntech, Brabus, or anyone else wants to come, please do! This is a Mercedes meet, that will feature a lot of Kleemann cars. Just don't take the fun out of it.

Hello Mach430,

what is the performance gain for a 98' CLK320 with Kleemann system? I maybe considering modifying my wife's CLK. The 320's just doesn't have enough juice, not comparing to my E55. Also how much wear and stress will the Kompressor have on the stock transmission and suspension? Thanks.

John,

The transmission can easily handle the increase of power. Mercedes is very cautious with the transmissions tha they used, and their torque rating is much higher than Kleemann achieves. The 320 will get approximately 330HP. Enough to make it considerably faster than the 430, and depending on the car, as fast as the 55 AMG. The 320 has the benefit of a 3.07 differntial, where as the 430 and 55 do not.

Ben, I really appreciate the invitation to be involved in a head to head match up against Kleemann. But what would really be accomplished here? As we know there is plenty of room for both companies to corner and control the market. Beating one down back and forth only brings, creditability & slander issues. If you like it or not, there will always be competition if its HPS or another company. There is nothing you can do.

Seeing your creditability, you realize we could reduce the pulley, add a chip, and use 03 racing fuel and a few other tricks here and there. To increase the horsepower and psi well over 6. So what is accomplished here?

I hope you enjoy your ride on Sunday, as I will be at a local sports bar in Newport Beach drinking beer, chatting with beautiful young ladies and more important watching football.

We welcome you for product info! Not enough people know about either of these kits. The members of this board wanted to see both kits.

This a good opportunity to showcase your product and eduacate people.

Please, no one ever say we did not try to give equal time the HPS.

Thanks

Brad

I was really looking forward to seeing your E55K in action, not to beat Kleeman or not, but to get info on 1/4 mile times, input on your system, all I have seen is the E430K. in my case 16k to 20k (installed) is a lot more than I could afford/get away with the wife.
Your s/c offers me an option for 1/2 the price, at 1/2 the performace gains in comparison to kleeman??? I don't know, and this would've helped me and many other in the same situation clear things out.

I hope you guys change your mind and do show up on sunday.

Drinking at 11 am? Business must be pretty good if you would rather drink beer than get free publicity.

Good morning Brad,

In time HPS will offer 1/2 day tours to potential customers, board members and of course yourself. Product information, demonstrations and question and answer will be included.

I think that's a great idea on your part to bring both companies together to demonstrate and offer 2 different companies philosophies and products in this industry.

Being in a high position in your company you realize time should not be taken for granted. Once again I do appreciate the offer to be included in Sunday's automotive festival. I hope you and other board members enjoy!

Pocholin,

If you would like the opinion of an owner of the HPS S/C on a 55, you could always ask Timster about his experiences with it.....or maybe HPS would like to comment on how the car performed........................
