looking for Kleemann pulley kit for W203

Back when they used to make them they sold for $599 U.S. for a metal ring that went over your pulley and $899 U.S. for an alloy crank pulley. Performance is comperable to any of the other pulley kit and varies from car to car. On average I've seen about 25 hp at the rear wheels and about 30 ft-lbs/torque. I got a little better than that and some people I know did a little less. What I've noticed with different pulleys is that there is no correlation between brand or materials used and how much power they get out of it. Check out my website for installation information at www.Buellwinkle.com
If you are still interested and you own an MB with the 2.3L Kompressor motor check with ASP, Brabus, Renntech and Vaeth. If you are looking for something for the 1.8K motor used in the 2003 W203 then you are outa luck.

Yes, the sway bars are from the C32 and it's about $200 for everything.
As for the pulley kit, they are all basically the same, a factory pulley that's been modified to be as large as it can be and still fit without rubbing. The least expensive is ASP at $650 US and then it goes up dramatically from there. The next least expensive is Renntech at $1,600 and the Vaeth, Carlsson and Brabus run between $1,800 and $2,000. Most people on these forums have the ASP pulley, a few have Kleemann, a few have Renntech, haven't heard of any with Carlsson or Brabus. I know that a few people have the Vaeth pulley on the SLK230 forum.

wow........i think my friend would only consider the ASP or the Kleemann. But, today i called a shop to order the ASP pulley kit for me and they sold me ASP stops selling the pulley kit for W203 for now because they have discovered some problems with it. Is that true?
the last time i ask the dealer about the AMG sway bars; they told me they are about $340 for the front and two hundred something for the rear...

Vaeth
Pulley kit: I don't know what exactly it is made of. Vaeth has a VERY GOOD reputation, though, so I am confident that it's made of quality components. If it is similar to the kits he's offering for the older M111 ML engines, it should include a larger crankshaft pulley, new belt, upgraded fuel pressure regulator, maybe a smaller silencer wheel. If I was you, I'd also go the the larger intercooler. I have a 230SLK, with the older 2.3L engine, and have much of Vaeth's stuff installed. Never regretted it!
Unfortunately, there's no "1-800" number. You could try their FAX if you wanna save money at first & just ask for basic information that way.
Like for many other (older) Germans I know, e-mail is NOT something they like using for some odd reason. So don't bother dropping a message, you will likely never get a response.
Their website address is www.vaeth.com
If you decide to order their kit, you will need to wire them the money up front (no credit cards accepted). The cost for "old" kitwas approx. 1,500, the intercooler went for ~900.
Shipping time was 2-3 weeks in my case, pick-up at the airport/customs. Customs may or may not charge you a small amount depending on mood or wheather...

As far as I know you can only get the ASP for any MB directly from Lee by calling him. You can't order it from any of their dealers, website or 800 #. As far as the Vaeth pulley I saw, it's made exactly like the ASP pulley except that ASP now goes the extra mile and drills holes do save 2 lbs. in weight but if you don't want the holes let him know. He sells pulleys for the 2003 SL55, C32, SLK32, 1998-2000 C230K, 2002 C230K, 1998-2003 SLK230. Nothing for the 1.8L but he'll make any pulley you want, just get him the exact specs or better yet, get him a factory pulley and tell him how much bigger you want it.
