UPsolute chip tuner
Has anyone have any experiences with UPSOLUTE? I recently inquired about this company. This is by far the cheapest chip tuner. I got a quote of $425 installed with a $75 dollar rebate. They claim that there are gains of ~25HP and 26 ft-lbs of torque. This is my first mod in terms of the engine and electronics so is there anything i need to ask them before I go for it?

They are quite popular with the Porsche crowd. Nothing bad to say about them, but their product is not up to GIAC level (price isn't either though). You send them your ECU, they flash the program on that they get through their HQ in Europe. As far as I remeber, they can be noticed by dealers when you go in fro service and overwritten, unlike GIAC. So make sure you know exactly what you value and what you want out of the ECU before comiting. If you go to the dealer alot, you might be better with GIAC. Hope this helps.

Hi,
i've chipped my SLK230 3 months ago with UPSOLUT and i can tell you that the car is now more POWERFULL!!!!
don't know if it's +15, +20, etc but can be noticed!!!!!!
As far as i can see it seems a good choice!!!!

Mike230k, have u taken your car in for service? I am scared of the MB guys seein that the ECU was tampered with.

The dealer will not be able to tell the chip has been tuned unless they actually open the ECU up. So I would not really worry about that. The onyl possible negative effect is having them re flash the ECU and rewritting the Upsolute chip on you by accident. Hope this helps clarify.

yes...the pulleys could do a good job....BUT if i want to go at "full speed" can be a "damage thing"?....or it's ok? (since it will put more rotation speed on the kompressor!)

I've had my '99 C230k for a month now. Still have the Starmark until 7/2006. I think I've read every thread concerning the ASP pulley, the SpeedTuning chip, and the Upsolute chip. Everyone that has done the chip, from whatever company/installer, has positive feedback, except for linh. However, no one has really presented any concrete evidence of improvement/HP increase like a bonafide b4 and aft dyno runs.
If I'm mistaken, please inform me and the others of this fact, and show me. The charts I've seen from the chip manuftrs are nice, but it may also be a sales ploy. 30+ HP PEAK at redline isn't relevant to a street car. 99% of us don't drive at redline evrydy or evrtme we are in our cars.
I just want the most factual info possible b4 I plant down $300+ for any upgrade on my MB.

I contacted their sales person recently, and he emailed me the price. It turned out that they charge $150 for pulleyed M111 over stock, which didn't make any sense - a flush is a flush, regardless of the presence of an aftermarket pulley 
. Besides, even if they do have "stock" firmware images, these pulleys are very common so they wouldn't have to do any "extra" custom programming to do mine.

I re-coded my original chip with Upsolute software and received the rebate of $75.00. This was done to a SLK 230. The car does perform overall much smoother and appears to be very much quicker and responsive. Supercharged and turbo engines do gain more power by re-coding the original chip. Regular aspirated engines will gain very little horsepower enhancements.

I just want quicker throttle response...... I don't exspect too much HP gain from the chip.

do u have a pully kit? or just chip? Is the throttle response better? can u tell a difference and where on the spectrum do u find it??
